Immersive Experiences That Turn the City Into a Playground
Because who said kids get to have all the fun?

Bored of the usual dinner-and-drinks loop? Sydney’s immersive scene is worth looking into (especially since it feels like it’s growing by the minute). Whether you’re decked out in an orange jumpsuit drinking cocktails or diving into a giant ball-pit, there’s plenty of fun things to get lost in if you’re looking for something a little unusual. These are our favourite immersive experiences in Sydney at the minute.

Alcotraz: The Jail-Bar Speakeasy
Step into Alcotraz and you’re no longer a guest…you’re an inmate. This theatrical cocktail bar transforms you into a prisoner wearing an orange jumpsuit and navigating a prison world ruled by crooked guards and bootlegging gangs. Over 1 hour 45 minutes, you’ll sip four expertly crafted drinks (or mocktails), haggle for contraband, and maybe even hatch an escape plan. The actors keep you part of the story, whether you’re playing the mole or colluding with the Warden.
Why go: It’s high-drama, high-design, and high-fun, like immersive theatre with free-flowing drinks.
