The Best New Restaurants in Perth: 2025 Edition

Looking for date night dinner inspiration? We’ve tasted our way across the city to bring you the hottest new eateries — these are the best new restaurants in Perth you need to know about!

Monelli

Perth’s dining scene is constantly evolving, and we’re here for every bite of it. In 2025, across the city, a wave of exciting newcomers redefined what it means to dine out in the west — blending bold flavours with boundary-pushing interiors and the kind of warm, confident service that makes you want to stay all night.

Whether it’s a coastal kitchen doing extraordinary things with WA seafood, a beachside bombshell effortlessly balancing style and substance, or a neighbourhood pop-up that just gets everything right — these are the new restaurants in Perth setting the tone for 2025. Hungry? You’re in the right place.

Pearla & Co.

Sliding in just in time for our annual reflection on the spots that left us gasping for more is Pearla & Co. The new coastal kitchen from Scott Bridger (ex-Bib & Tucker) washed up on Leighton Beach last month, with its produce-driven and seafood-centric approach proving to be a winning recipe. The menu is a true celebration of Western Australian produce, featuring fish dry-aged in-house, sustainably sourced shellfish, and oysters shucked fresh to order. Each plate is equal parts art, story and taste — the kind of experience you’ll be thinking about long after your last mouthful.

The menu is forever-evolving, depending on what’s fresh and seasonal, but trust us, with Head Chef Pablo Gosteli on the pass, it’s guaranteed to be exceptional. Personally, I can’t stop thinking about the chargrilled Fremantle octopus skewers served on a smoked tomato xo and labneh. The local occy was cooked to perfection. And that smoked tomato xo and labneh? Oh-so moreish. Also, don’t hate me, but if I may put forward a case for the bread and butter while I’m here… It’s quite possibly the best I’ve had in Perth. They’ve gone for a beautiful house-made fougasse topped with seaweed and served with a heavenly smoked butter. I challenge you not to order another round.

Tigerfish

Tigerfish— the Cottesloe Beach Hotel’s new South East Asian-inspired bar and restaurant — has turned plenty of heads since opening last month. With vibrant beachfront ambience and bold interiors designed by the same crew who brought Chin Chin to life in Melbourne, it’s the kind of spot that instantly impresses. And thankfully, the food and drink actually lives up to the hype.

Slide in post-swim for a Junmai Ginger Martini or a bottle of something crisp paired with bar bites like wonton bombs, prawn toast spring rolls and Albany rock oysters. For something more substantial, book a table in the main restaurant where pork belly, lamb ribs and premium wagyu sirloin arrive fresh from the robata grill, and delicate parcels of fish are served alongside bright herbs and heavenly curry sauce.

Bert’s

Bert’s

2025 was a big year for beachside dining, with Odyssea in City Beach making way for another fresh seaside face in Bert’s. This one comes from the team behind The Rowing Pavilion and General Public Food Co — Mark Pearn, Nic Strachan, and Evan Hewitt — and pays homage to the historic 1930s–70s “Bert’s Shop,” once a local surf hangout and tea room.

The vibe is very much casual, all-day dining, taking you from morning coffee to lunch, cocktails and beyond, with a menu of seasonal, locally sourced dishes. We’re talking prawn and lobster rolls, wagyu beef tartare and cured salmon, alongside faves from their other venues, including The Rowing Pavilion’s chicken parmi and General Public’s woodfired pizzas and iconic sourdough vegemite scrolls (available on their brekky menu).

Magnolia BBQ at Modus

In 2025, Jacob D’Vauz and Anisha Halik, the culinary dream team behind Doubleview Bowls Club’s popular Special Delivery dinner service, brought us an all-new pop-up venture. Transforming Modus Vic Park’s light and airy cafe space into a lively Asian dining joint for two nights a week, Magnolia BBQ explores the pair’s Malay heritage in a way that feels deeply personal. Food memories reimagined through a modern lens, underpinned by decades of combined hospitality experience and a solid line-up of local collaborators. If you’re yet to experience it, this is your sign.

Roma Robby

Roma Robby

From the local culinary crew behind Papi Katsu, Lupe’s Cerveceria, Shui and Margot’s, came Perth’s newest Italian hangout, Roma Robby. Settle in for a taste of Roma, with fat, fluffy, crispy-edged Roman-style pizzas fresh out of the wood-fired oven and comforting baked pastas you’ll want to dive straight into. Wash it down with vino, spritzes and even a martini or two from Margot’s next door, and you’re in for a very good night indeed.

Sitchu Tip: Weekends are great, but Thursday nights are where it’s at. Tuck into a serve of their iconic 50-layer lasagna with a glass of wine for just $25.

Kalye Filipino Streats

Perth got a Filipino flavour upgrade this year, and we could not be more grateful. Kalye Filipino Streats in Northbridge is serving up street eats that hit every note — smoky inasal, rich pares, peanut-sauced eggplant kare-kare, and yes, mango graham bars that might just ruin every other summer vibes dessert for you. Sip traditional gulaman or buko pandan, soak in the vibrant vibes, and let the founders’ love for Manila and Davao shine through every bite.

Bold, bright, and unapologetically delicious — this is Filipino street food elevated, and your weekend cravings just found a new home.

Avalon

Avalon

Claremont scored a serious culinary glow-up with Avalon — a sun-soaked, 120-seat stunner where Mediterranean soul and modern Perth flair come together in perfect harmony. Brought to life by the legends behind Cup & Co, Avalon tips its hat to Greek and Italian roots, but also does its own thing. Expect Wagin duck, glistening local seafood, and a champagne-forward drinks list that bubbles with promise.

Luxe long lunch or a golden hour graze? The vibe’s always dialled — especially on Thursdays, when live jazz turns the sparkle all the way up.

Monelli

Monelli

Perched in the breezy coastal enclave of Burns Beach, Monelli brings a slice of the Amalfi Coast to Perth’s northern shores. Meaning “mischievous rascals,” this elegant yet playful Mediterranean gem is helmed by husband-and-wife duo Ezio Patrizi and Cinzia Di Pio, alongside daughter Eleonora. Expect handmade pastas, pristine seafood, and citrus-kissed Amalfi cocktails, all crafted with seasonal flair.

The airy, design-forward space channels coastal Italy with restraint and charm, effortlessly blending indoor and alfresco dining. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monelli is poised to become Perth’s next cult Italian destination.

Light Years Asian Diner

Perth’s already fallen hard for Light Years Asian Diner — and it’s easy to see why. The cult-favourite from Byron Bay, Noosa, and Burleigh has landed in WA with its biggest and boldest venue yet, bringing all the vibrant energy, punchy cocktails and riot of flavour it’s famous for. Set against a colourful, ultra-cool backdrop, the menu is packed with modern Asian hits made for sharing: crispy pork belly baos, zingy kingfish sashimi, fried rice with ‘that’ XO sauce and spicy margs that go down way too easily.

But hey, don’t just take our word for it. Sitchu readers voted Light Years Asian Diner as this year’s Best New Restaurant in our inaugural Sitchu Awards.

Ten & Sen

Ten & Sen

Ten and Sen is a ramen lover’s dream. This cosy nook brings a bold Hokkaido-style broth to Perth, infused with fragrant curry spices and WA’s finest seasonal veg. Add wavy noodles, gyoza, and a crisp glass of Yoichi wine, and you’ve got yourself a match made in noodle heaven. Warm, welcoming and wildly delicious.

747 Newcastle Street, Leederville

Charim

Charim

Helmed by former Korean military officer-turned-chef Hyun Cha, who cut his teeth in Japanese kitchens across Sydney, Charim strips dining back to its essence: good food, made with care. The name translates to “setting the table,” and that’s exactly the vibe — warm, welcoming, and nourishing.

Technically, this one slid in at the tail end of last year, but given we missed it in our 2024 wrap, we felt it was only fair to include it here.

Sitchu Tip: Don’t leave without trying the Je-yuk Bokkeum, a fiery pork stir-fry served with rice and traditional sides. It’s rich, comforting, and completely moreish.
