Australia’s Best Whiskies, According to the World’s Toughest Judges
Australia’s whisky scene has just been handed global bragging rights. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition has named its latest Best in Class winners, and four Australian distilleries are officially worth the pilgrimage. Leading the pack is Callington Mill Distillery, crowned Best in Class for its Pedro Ximenez expression, crafted in Oatlands and now poured at its Hobart outpost inside MACq01.

Sweet Nostalgia! Sizzler is Making a Comeback
Remember those endless salad bars, sizzling steaks, and soft-serve runs from the ’90s? Same.
When Sizzler closed back in 2020 it marked the end of an era, particularly as the beloved buffet outlet was a hallmark childhood memory for many of us. In amazing news, Minor Hotels will bring back Sizzler at the new NH Collection Hotel at Sydney Airport later this year. Better yet, there’s already talk of expansion, with rumoured plans to roll the brand out Australia-wide.
In the meantime, Sydney can bask in the knowledge that the sweet taste of nostalgia isn’t far off. We hope this new iteration keeps the retro vibes and generous portions, and we’ll see you there for a slice of that incredible cheese toast.

Loco Love Expands With LUVIO: A New Chapter in Conscious Chocolate
Byron Bay’s cult-favourite vegan chocolate brand Loco Love has unveiled its latest creation in LUVIO; a new range of chocolate blocks that are already reshaping the premium wellness space. Three years in the making, the brand is on a mission to redefine indulgence, pioneering the use of pure maple syrup to sweeten chocolate in a category first.
“LUVIO was born from a desire to celebrate life in all its ups and downs,” founder Emica Penklis tells Sitchu. “While Loco Love invites a pause, a moment of introspection, we saw a space for chocolate that feels indulgent without compromise: ethically sourced, maple-sweetened, grounded in whole ingredients, but designed to fit effortlessly into the rhythm of real life. We felt the market was ready for a chocolate that rises to any occasion — or no occasion at all.”
LUVIO’s debut lineup includes Mint Crisp, Salted Hazelnut, Coconut Salt and Salted Caramel Crunch (the only non-vegan bar) all crafted from fair-trade cacao and entirely free from seed oils, GMOs, gluten and peanuts. Ingredients are consciously sourced and the brand is also proudly carbon neutral, reflecting LUVIO’s commitment to sustainability as well as flavour.
The launch was met with unprecedented demand, selling out to wholesale partners and online consumers in record time. Reflecting on the response Penklis says: “The rapid sell-out shows that consumers no longer see indulgence and wellness as opposing forces. People want pleasure that aligns with their values — mindful, ethical, and nourishing — without compromise or guilt. LUVIO offers indulgence reimagined for a life lived fully, with joy and intention.”
LUVIO’s launch marks the next chapter for one of Australia’s most beloved conscious chocolate brands, offering a new way to indulge thoughtfully, intentionally, and deliciously.
