Sweet Nostalgia! Sizzler is Making a Comeback
Remember those endless salad bars, sizzling steaks, and soft-serve runs from the ’90s? Same.
When Sizzler closed back in 2020 it marked the end of an era, particularly as the beloved buffet outlet was a hallmark childhood memory for many of us. In amazing news, Minor Hotels will bring back Sizzler at the new NH Collection Hotel at Sydney Airport later this year. Better yet, there’s already talk of expansion, with rumoured plans to roll the brand out Australia-wide.
In the meantime, Sydney can bask in the knowledge that the sweet taste of nostalgia isn’t far off. We hope this new iteration keeps the retro vibes and generous portions, and we’ll see you there for a slice of that incredible cheese toast.

Free Valentine’s Day Gelato at Messina
Valentine’s Day. That one day of the year that makes everyone feel something — love, excitement, mild panic, or the sudden urge to book a dinner that’s already sold out. We’ve got the solution: dessert. Specifically, free gelato.
On February 14th, Gelato Messina is giving locals a very good excuse to bring someone you love, like, or even just tolerate. Two people, two scoops, two spoons. That’s it. Your partner, bestie, Mum, sister — honestly, just show up with another human and claim your free scoop via the Messina app. Expect limited-edition flavours, long (but worth it) queues, and one perfectly indulgent way to end a date night or celebrate Galentine’s. Because Valentine’s might be about love, but let’s be real… it’s also about free gelato.

This Indulgent Dessert Just Topped Our To-Try List
We love when brands collaborate, and even more so when it results in something chocolatey. Fonda has teamed up with Pana Organic, resulting in two indulgent, plant-based creations which are available in restaurants across Sydney and Melbourne.
From the 12th February, diners will be able to try the decadent dessert taco (layered with hazelnut spread and rocky road chocolate) and sip on the chocolate martini which is sinfully rich and creamy. To celebrate the collaboration on launch day, Pana Organic will be giving away 1,000 Free Sour Cherry & Madagascan Vanilla Chocolate Bars across Fonda’s Sydney (Surry Hills) and Melbourne (Windsor, Flinders Lane, Hawthorn, Richmond, Chadstone and Knox) locations for Fonda customers. It’s free chocolate so you’ll need to be quick, but it’s worth the rush!

Australia’s whisky scene has just been handed global bragging rights. TikTok’s Favorite Crumpet Has Hit Aussie Shores
Great news for foodies, TikTok’s favourite crumpet has officially landed in Australia, with UK bakery Warburtons bringing its cult-status crumpets to Aussie shelves, following a successful local trial earlier this year.
Now, a bit of backstory: originating in 1876, Warburtons is the largest crumpet bakery in the world, with six generations of crumpet-making to its name. In recent times, the crumpets have surged in popularity on TikTok as nostalgic eats continue to trend. Their crumpets are widely praised for their extra thickness and holey texture (300 holes in each crumpet, to be precise), which is ideal for soaking up butter, honey or whatever else you’re topping them with. The still family-run Warburton bakery now pumps out a whopping 800 million of the fluffy breakfast staple each year.
You’ll find them rolling out nationally at Coles, priced at $5 for a six-pack — just in time to level up breakfasts, snacks and a few internet-inspired creations over the holidays.

Loco Love Expands With LUVIO: A New Chapter in Conscious Chocolate
Byron Bay’s cult-favourite vegan chocolate brand Loco Love has unveiled its latest creation in LUVIO; a new range of chocolate blocks that are already reshaping the premium wellness space. Three years in the making, the brand is on a mission to redefine indulgence, pioneering the use of pure maple syrup to sweeten chocolate in a category first.
“LUVIO was born from a desire to celebrate life in all its ups and downs,” founder Emica Penklis tells Sitchu. “While Loco Love invites a pause, a moment of introspection, we saw a space for chocolate that feels indulgent without compromise: ethically sourced, maple-sweetened, grounded in whole ingredients, but designed to fit effortlessly into the rhythm of real life. We felt the market was ready for a chocolate that rises to any occasion — or no occasion at all.”
LUVIO’s debut lineup includes Mint Crisp, Salted Hazelnut, Coconut Salt and Salted Caramel Crunch (the only non-vegan bar) all crafted from fair-trade cacao and entirely free from seed oils, GMOs, gluten and peanuts. Ingredients are consciously sourced and the brand is also proudly carbon neutral, reflecting LUVIO’s commitment to sustainability as well as flavour.
The launch was met with unprecedented demand, selling out to wholesale partners and online consumers in record time. Reflecting on the response Penklis says: “The rapid sell-out shows that consumers no longer see indulgence and wellness as opposing forces. People want pleasure that aligns with their values — mindful, ethical, and nourishing — without compromise or guilt. LUVIO offers indulgence reimagined for a life lived fully, with joy and intention.”
LUVIO’s launch marks the next chapter for one of Australia’s most beloved conscious chocolate brands, offering a new way to indulge thoughtfully, intentionally, and deliciously.
