FARRA Is the Chic New Grecian Dining Spot You Need to Know

Euro summer meets Australian ease at this elegant new dining destination nestled within the soon-to-open HYDE hotel.

Perth’s coolest new hotel, HYDE, is about to open its doors. Along with it comes FARRA, a refined Grecian-inspired dining concept that layers WA produce with Greek island energy.

Spanning a restaurant, poolside bar and rooftop terrace, FARRA shifts with the day. Lunch becomes poolside cocktails, sunset turns into dinner, and before you know it, you’re dancing under the stars upstairs. It’s polished but relaxed, with a grounding Australian essence. The perfect place to settle in and stay awhile.

The menu is built around hot and cold meze, designed for sharing and building upon as your meal progresses. Start with the essentials: warm house-baked bread with a trio of dips (tzatziki finished with pickled cucumber and mint, Santorini fava with sundried tomato, capers and bush tomato, and taramasalata enriched with fig leaf oil and smoked trout roe).

Then make way for comfort plates like flame-kissed lamb tomahawk finished with tyrokafteri (a spicy feta and roast pepper dip), dumplings folded with mizithra (a Greek cheese similar to ricotta) zucchini blossom and nigella seed, and kalamaria yemista (stuffed squid) filled with sujuk and taro skordalia. A large slow-roasted lamb shoulder served on the bone is there for those keen to linger over something more substantial.

The same Greek and Mediterranean notes are weaved throughout the wine list too, resting effortlessly alongside drops from local producers and fun, large-format bottles (like magnums and jeroboams) made for celebrations big and small. Bright, aromatic and tropical-leaning cocktails round out the drinks offering, keeping things fresh, playful and primed for poolside aperitifs.

Arrive in the morning, and you’ll be greeted by a similar sentiment: local produce, Grecian influence and Australian ease. Think yoghurt, grains and warm breads, grounded by fresh herbs, fruit and savoury flavours for balance.

After getting his start in Greek island kitchens, Executive Chef Aaron Moore went on to spend seven years working in produce-driven kitchens, Bread & Common and Coogee Common, so you can expect that same focus on quality local ingredients here, no matter what time you roll in.

Add textured, sun-washed interiors by Anthology Studio and sensory curation woven through every corner (think elevated lighting, custom scents and curated soundscapes), and FARRA looks to set a new standard for immersive, all-day hospitality in Perth.

FARRA officially opens inside HYDE Perth on Sunday March 1st.
