She at the Helm opens with Foundations, a five-course collaboration between Navi head chef Ana Cortés García and Bundjalung chef Mindy Woods, with Kate McIntyre MW and restaurateur Angie Gianniakodakis guiding the wine.
The menu brings Ana’s two-hatted Yarraville precision together with Mindy’s deep connection to Country, culture and community, where food carries knowledge, care and memory across generations. Eat & Drink
Le Pub Sunday Roast
Some Sundays call for a reset, others call for a roast and a Bloody Mary in the CBD. Le Pub’s Sunday roast is the one you should book the afternoon around, with a rotating roast from midday, tap pours flowing, and just enough old-world pub energy to make the end of the weekend feel significantly better styled.

Cost: Rotating special; check in-venue for this week’s roast via socials
Best For: Dates, long lunches and friends who take their Sundays seriously.

Arts & Culture:
Australian Heritage Festival
Melbourne’s past is getting top billing this month, with the Australian Heritage Festival turning the city into a trail of mansion tours, design talks, river stories and archaeology sessions. Running until 18th May 2026, it is a glorious excuse to step inside places usually kept behind closed doors, from Government House to Labassa and Como House, with plenty of free events threaded through the program too.
Where: Multiple locations around the city
When : Until 18th May, 2026
Cost: Varies by event
Best For: Best for culture lovers, curious wanderers and a beautiful day out.
Need To Know: Pre-book the standout sessions early. Timed events and special programs often require bookings, and popular properties such as Labassa, Polly Woodside and Como House are best locked in ahead.

What’s On in Melbourne: Your Ultimate Guide for April & Beyond
EONARIUM Enlightenment at Immigration Museum
At the Immigration Museum, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is recast as a luminous 30-minute spectacle of sound, colour and movement. Enlightenment wraps the historic Long Room in sweeping projections and an original sense of drama, carrying audiences through spring, summer, autumn and winter in one beautifully immersive sitting. Fresh from sold-out seasons across Europe and Brisbane, it feels both transporting and intimate.
Book a beanbag seat if you can, then settle in for one of April’s most enchanting cultural outings.
Where: 400 Flinders Street, Melbourne
When : From April 2026
Cost: $44 GA
Best For: Best for date nights, culture-minded friends and anyone in the mood for a visually beautiful outing.
Need To Know: It’s captivated over 2 million visitors worldwide.
Live Music & Shows:
The Book of Mormon
Melbourne, praise be. The Book of Mormon is back at the Princess Theatre, bringing its filthy, fearless musical chaos to Spring Street until 19th July. Created by South Park duo Trey Parker and Matt Stone with Frozen songwriter Robert Lopez, the nine-time Tony Award-winner follows two wildly mismatched missionaries sent far, far from Salt Lake City, where faith, ego and Broadway bombast collide at full volume.
It is rude, ridiculous and precision-built to make a packed theatre lose its mind. Book it for the songs, the shock value, the group chat debrief after, and the thrill of seeing one of modern musical theatre’s biggest beasts in one of Melbourne’s grandest rooms.
Where: Princess Theatre
When : Now playing
Cost: From $99
Best For: Theatre lovers; group nights; high-energy comedy
Need To Know: Book ahead for weekend sessions; contains explicit language and content, strobe lighting, smoke, haze, gunshots and effects.
Piper’s Playhouse
Crown’s after-dark alter ego is all red velvet, Champagne and cabaret with a pulse. Piper’s Playhouse turns the Riverwalk into a Parisian fever dream, with live jazz, burlesque, illusion, circus and close-up magic spilling through the room. Headlined by Miss Burlesque Australia Diesel Darling, with Jimi the Kween and Clara Fable on rotation, it’s theatrical, flirtatious and strictly adults-only. Go dressed for trouble.
Where: Crown Melbourne, Southbank
When: Until 30th May
Cost: From $45
Best for: Big date energy; group nights; cabaret lovers
Need to Know: This is an 18+ event and some tickets include a glass of Champagne.

Sip and Shop at JDV STORE
If your perfect weekend stop involves beautiful objects, a very good coffee and the faint risk of wanting to redo your entire home, make it JDV STORE. Tucked along High Street in Prahran, this design-led space is all sculptural ceramics, Japanese porcelain, woven textures and pieces chosen with real restraint. The bonus is the tiny cafe folded into the store, pouring coffee and matcha among stoneware and glassware, which makes the whole experience feel all the more transportive.
Where: 247 High Street, Prahran
When : Check current opening hours before you go
Cost: Free to browse, pay for purchases and cafe items
Best For: Design lovers, interiors people, matcha enthusiasts, and anyone partial to a beautifully spent morning or afternoon.
Need To Know: Come with time to spare. This shouldn’t be a rushed pop-in situation.
Family & Kids:
Play School: Come and Play!
Big Ted, Little Ted, Jemima and the Rocket Clock still have serious pulling power, and ACMI’s new Play School exhibition knows exactly how to use it. Marking 60 years of the beloved show, Play School: Come and Play! invites little ones behind the scenes to play presenter, camera operator and director, then climb aboard the Rocket Clock and tumble through songs, stories and games. Sweet, interactive and very nicely done, it is the rare family outing that feels just as lovely for the grown-ups tagging along.
Where: ACMI, Flinders Street, Melbourne CBD
When : Daily until 12th July, 10am to 5pm
Cost: Free
Best For: Little kids, nostalgic parents and anyone with a soft spot for Big Ted.
