February felt like it flew by, and March has rolled in with a bevy of new events to keep you busy. We’ll be welcoming the arrival of a cooler month, and enjoying the breezy afternoons at one of the new wine bars that have opened up around the city.
Whether you’re working on staying committed to your New Year’s resolutions or adding to your bucket list of places to eat in 2025, we’ll be right by your side every step of the way.

What’s on in Brisbane This Month – Eat & Drink
Rooftop Harvest at The Calile
This month, The Calile will welcome beloved cook, presenter and best-selling author, Julia Busuttil Nishimura for the launch of their new ongoing series–Rooftop Harvest. The series will present new and experimental food concepts and inclusive explorations of fresh air, food and ideas.
The inaugural event will begin with welcome drinks and canapes, followed by a live cooking demonstration and alfresco multicourse dinner in the Hotel’s amphitheatre.

Sake Festival
Celebrate all things sake this month, at the Sake Festival on Brisbane’s north shore. For the first time ever in Brisbane, this Japanese festival will take over Superordinary to showcase sake, food and culture for all to enjoy.
There will be 100 sake options to taste on site, and for any industry professionals–you can join an exclusive Japanese liquor seminar and trade event on the following Monday.

Portside Sundazed Sessions
Portside is dishing up a healthy dose of sunshine and good times this month, with the launch of Sundazed Sessions. This activation sees venues across the Portside precinct serving up special drinks and menu offers for you to enjoy at your whim.
- Dumbo has collaborated with Four Pillars to bring you a pop-up spritz bar, serving a special edition Dumbo Spritz, available as both a single serve or a carafe. The full menu is available for takeaway, which makes the perfect waterfront picnic.
- Fosh Tails will serve $2 oysters each Sunday, which go down a treat with the waterfront views & live music.
- Little Saigon Eatery has prepared a special takeaway picnic box for just $35, stocked with crispy pork banh mi, tiger prawn rice paper rolls, grilled pork meatball skewers, Vietnamese caramel flan and two cans of coke. Or, if you opt to dine in and spend over $40, you’ll receive complimentary homemade chicken spring rolls.
- Say cheers at Mademoiselle during Apero Hour. From 5pm to 7pm, you can enjoy $12 French cocktails like the Kir Royal, French Martini and the Black Raspberry Margarita.
- Recline at Byblos in their recently revitalised dining area, nibbling on Lebanese-inspired fare and enjoy a complimentary drink with any meal between 2pm and 6pm.
- Visit Gusto di Gianni for a luxurious champagne and oyster bar experience, curated in collaboration with Perrier-Jouët.
The Sundazed Sessions will be accompanied by an eclectic mix of live music acts such as the Gypsy Cats, D’Luxe, Connor Sax and Kahi Halim.

Innocent Bystander Pop-Up at Babylon
Innocent Bystander is known for doing things a little bit differently, and the return of their pop-up urban cellar door is no different.
Taking over Babylon Gardens at Riverside’s waterfront, this award-winning wine brand will host a free pop-up tattoo studio, live vinyl DJ performances, a bespoke wine dinner, long lunches, as well as a whole weekend devoted to their new Watermelon Spritz, including a Harry Styles lookalike competition with a $500 prize!

Fish Lane’s Tequila Takeover
The arrival of March brings with it a new series of events that we suspect might delight you… it’s a tequila takeover! Thanks to Espolòn Tequila, a whole host of exclusive drinks and menu items will descend upon venues throughout Fish Lane throughout March.
Here’s a sneak peek at what to expect:
- March Into Margarita Trail | Saturday 1st March, 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Begin Margarita Week in style, by strolling through Fish Lane and sipping on tequila-based cocktails across different venues. Ticketholders will receive a drink and nibbles on arrival, along with five tokens to use at participating venues of their choice. - Margs-A-Million | Saturday 16th March, 12:00pm to 4:00pm
The essential event for any marg-lover, Margs-A-Million is the best way to explore new margarita flavours and creations thanks to the team at Southside. There are ten different options, as well as a mezcal and tequila-tasting station, snack menu collabs, mariachi music and more. - Baja x Southside Collab Lunch | Sunday 23rd March, 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Two formidable Brisbane restaurants join forces to bring you an inspired new menu that melds two cuisines and the skills of two chefs. Benny Lam (of Southside) and Julius Villamoor (of Baja) have crafted a collaborative dining event with a three-course menu that combines bold Asian flavours with modern Mexican eats. - The Margarita Edit | Wednesday 26th March, 6:30pm
Enjoy an intimate evening of refined margaritas paired with small plates curated by Chef Daniel Miletic at Midtown, one of our favourite elegant NYC-style cocktail bars.

Gluten-Free Expo
Head down to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre this month to explore the Gluten-Free Expo hosted by Coeliac Australia. Held during Coeliac Awareness Week (13-20 March), this Expo will host expert dietitians, gastroenterologists, chefs and authors to share updates, insights and knowledge on how to live your best gluten-free life.
There’ll be exhibitors, food trucks and vendors selling deliciously safe snacks, pantry items and new products to try.

What’s on in Brisbane: Health & Wellness
Feel Good Program
Get fit for free this season, with an outdoor exercise program that will get your blood pumping! South Bank is continuing its partnership with Goodlife Health Clubs to bring 13 classes per week that suit a range of abilities.
Each class is led by an experienced Goodlife trainer and ranges from mat pilates, Zumba, Body Balance, Abs Butts & Thighs and more.
Plus, Saturday morning participants can enjoy a free coffee to get their energy fix before (or after!) their workout.

The Calile’s Book Club Competition
In the spirit of fostering local community, The Calile announced a literary-based competition to encourage connection. This new opportunity gives a local book club a chance to host their next event in the Hotel’s library.
The competition is a natural extension of the Hotel’s own in-house book club, curated by Riverbend Books. It celebrates the power of reading to welcome new perspectives, share common ground and to come together in the pursuit of knowledge.
Entries close on the 6th of March, with the winner to be announced on Tuesday 11th March.

Macbeth
Visit La Boite Theatre this month for a reimagined performance of Macbeth. This production tells the tale of the witches whose cryptic prophecies drove Macbeth to madness and ruin.

Discovering Ancient Egypt
Step back in time at the Queensland Museum this month and explore mysteries, art and rituals from ancient times. The Discovering Ancient Egypt exhibition has just arrived from the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities and offers a peek into the culture, daily life and beliefs practised in ancient Egypt.
Explore 3D light projections of the Temple of Taffeh, sculptures, Book of the Dead scrolls, jewellery, artwork and so much more.

Titanic: The Human Story
Following sold-out sessions in London, New York and DC, Titanic: The Human Story is coming to Brisbane!
Discover the human stories of the Titanic passengers by exploring personal possessions, photographs and relics both from people aboard, and from the ship itself. You’ll also get to view a recreation of the ship’s interior, from the first-class suites to the humble third-class cabins.

James Street Up Late

Bluey’s World
