There’s nothing better than a lazy morning browse through the markets, coffee in one hand and a dog leash in the other. Many Brisbane locals spend the wee hours of their weekend mornings loading up on local produce to enjoy over the week, supporting our local farmers, foodies and small businesses. 

We’ve put together a guide to the city’s favourites so that you can experience the best that Brisbane markets have to offer! It’s also one of the best ways to explore new parts of the city on foot, with most of these markets being situated in scenic or waterfront locations. So grab your reusable bags or produce trolley, it’s time to explore Brisbane’s best markets.

St Stephen’s Cathedral Markets

Searching for an inner-city market that does it all? The St Stephen’s Cathedral Markets are set to make a triumphant return from March 2024 to bring a vibrant celebration of local produce and small businesses to life! Pick up your fresh produce for the week, grab a bite to eat from a diverse line-up of Korean, Italian or Greek eats, and shop up a storm from the various unique vendors hawking accessories, gifts and so much more.

Superordinary Supermarkets

Superordinary Supermarkets

In 2023, Brisbane Northshore launched the Superordinary Supermarkets, designed for foodies, music and art lovers, and fashion-savvy shoppers to delight in as part of their Sunday reset. On the second Sunday of each month from 8am to 2pm, shoppers can visit the Superordinary creative hub to thrift fashion, art, jewellery, crafts and more, all in one location. With a regular rotation of new market stallholders, there will always be something new to discover at these fun new markets in Brisbane!

A mere fifteen minutes from the CBD on a historic wharf on the Brisbane River lies an enormous market metropolis that’s bursting with hot food, cold refreshing drinks and quirky stalls to shop from! This Brisbane market destination proved so popular that it had to be upgraded to a larger site on the Northshore so that they could accommodate over 70 traders, ranging from 5 themed bars, eclectic shopping stalls and micro restaurants from six of the world’s seven continents, all housed in repurposed shipping containers. Eat Street is the perfect dining and drinks destination for couples and groups on weekend evenings or Friday nights after a long, busy week.

There’s also live music, quality coffee and tasty treats to enjoy, so you can truly make a morning of it!

The famous Rocklea Saturday Fresh Markets are always packed to the brim on a Saturday morning, bustling with locals purchasing their fresh produce for the week ahead.
