FAQs

Sydney’s best current dining deals span the CBD, inner west, eastern suburbs and northern beaches, with standouts including $6 taco Wednesdays at El Primo Sanchez in Surry Hills, $1 gyoza Mondays at Sakura House, and a $39 Wagyu steak frites lunch at 20 Chapel in Marrickville. Most deals run on a specific day or time window, so it’s worth checking exact hours before heading out. Deals are refreshed regularly as new offers launch and older ones wind up.

For sheer value, $1 gyoza at Sakura House in the CBD is hard to beat, with a minimum order of five pieces. For a full meal rather than a snack, $20 weekday pasta at Bar Mammoni and $6 taco Wednesdays at El Primo Sanchez both offer a complete, affordable dining experience for $20 per person and under.

Several venues run dedicated steak deals on set days: 20 Chapel offers a $39 Wagyu eye of round steak frites lunch, ANA in Double Bay runs $30 steak nights midweek, and Bar Nina in Darlinghurst pairs steak frites with a glass of wine for $25 every Tuesday evening and The Waratah for $28 steak and chips every Thursday. Bookings are recommended for all three, as steak specials tend to sell out quickly.

Yes, many of the best-value deals bundle a drink into the price. A.P Bread and Wine offers pasta and wine for $40 on Wednesdays, Arms Length pairs a $19 pasta with a glass of house wine on Tuesdays, and Jōji’s $39 deal includes a Wagyu burger, fries and a martini. These combined offers tend to represent the strongest value per dollar spent.

Tuesday and Wednesday tend to have the highest concentration of dining deals in Sydney, as venues use midweek specials to drive traffic on traditionally quieter nights. Arms Length, Bar Nina and Makaveli all run dedicated Tuesday deals, while A.P Bread and Wine and The Charles Bar offer strong Wednesday specials.
