The Garden
The Garden

Leederville has long been a go-to destination for Perth foodies, thanks to its effortlessly cool suburban vibe, vibrant streetscape, and eclectic mix of dining experiences, including an abundance of sweet cafes. Whether you’re in the mood for casual bites with friends, a lively night out, or a more sophisticated meal with carefully crafted dishes, Leederville’s restaurants cater to every craving and occasion.

Here are our pick of the best Leederville restaurants, each offering a unique twist on flavour, style, and dining atmosphere.

Pappagallo

Pappagallo

This Italian eatery is known for its woodfired pizzas and handmade pasta. Its dishes reflect traditional family recipes, with a focus on securing the highest quality ingredients. Think: flour certified by the Associazione Pizzerie Italian, San Marzano tomatoes with DOP certification, creamy di latte buffalo mozzarella and delicate parma prosciutto.

The classic Margherita pizza is a perfect example of the kitchen’s brilliance, while their rich, slow-cooked ragù over homemade pappardelle keeps locals coming back. When it’s cold out, we also can’t go past the iconic Zuppa Di Pesce for two. A soul-warming seafood dish from owner Nino La Verghetta’s hometown of Vasto, it features fresh fish fillet, prawns, mussels, clams, baby squid, garlic and chilli in light cherry tomato sauce, cooked in a woodfired oven in a traditional clay pot that’s topped with pizza dough.

Powell’s

Powell’s

You could argue that this hot spot is more bar than restaurant, but a quick glance across the tables will tell you there’s more than enough going on food-wise to make it the main event. Part fromagerie, part cool wine bar, Powell’s does girl dinner better than most. Start with a cheese board featuring a handpicked selection of top-shelf Australian and international cheeses, housemade sourdough crackers and accompaniments. Then move to cheesy lasagne bites, haloumi corn fritti, Mumma Powell’s iconic focaccia paired with a creamy Stracciatella, and lashings of sliced salumi and mortadella. A bottle of chilled red and a generous scoop of their tiramisu is the only reasonable way to cap your night off. We can see why the girlies are fighting for tables!
