. Located on Level 35 in the east end luxury hotel, feast on a menu carefully designed by internationally trained chefs from the likes of Le Cordon Blue and bring in the New Year in elegance. With seatings from 8.30 pm, enjoy a dazzling six-course degustation menu with a celebratory flute of Taittinger Champagne at midnight.

For a lavish and decadent New Year’s Eve dinner that’s hard to beat, Melba Restaurant at The Langham is the spot. The luxury hotel’s buffet restaurant will be gearing up for two abundant sittings with special feature dishes created just for the night. The early sitting from 5pm to 8pm will leave you with plenty of time to do as you please for the rest of the night. Whilst the 9pm sitting will let you toast to the New YEar with views over the city skyline with a flute of Perrier-Jouët Champagne in hand.

Let's be honest, the Arbory was made for NYE. With their prime Flinders St location that boasts million-dollar views of the Yarra and their tasty food and drinks offering, it really is a no brainer. Raise a glass to 2021 with 2.5 hours of all-inclusive canapés, flowing beer, cider, wine, Champagne and premium house spirits over two sittings. The early sitting from 5 pm is kid-friendly with packages to accommodate the whole family, while from 8:30 pm onwards it's an adults-only affair.

Avoiding the chaos of the CBD doesn't mean that you have to skip out on a view. With a rooftop bar, uninterrupted views across the city and an Aperol Spritz on arrival, Johnny's Green Room has NYE down pat. With two dinner sittings (5-6pm and 8-9:30pm), guests can enjoy a delicious four-course menu amidst the leafy green trees of Carlton. They'll be DJs all night and live entertainment as well so you can enjoy one last hurrah before the year ends.

Celebrate Capodanno in Little Italy at Carlton's Agostino. With a four-course Italian feast and glass of Champagne on arrival, ring in the new year living la dolce vita! Early seatings before 6:30 pm are for 2.5 hours, so you'll have plenty of time to get into the city before midnight. Second seatings (after 6:30 pm) are welcome to celebrate all the way into the new year.

Say sayonara to 2020 at Bomba's NYE Spanish fiesta. Party-goers can enjoy the four-course celebratory menu that blends the best of Spain with Victoria's fresh, seasonal produce. Party-goers can indulge one last time before the year is out with a selection of cocktails and free-flowing beer and wine to match. Seatings are from 5 pm with the choice of dining inside or alfresco. You know it's going to be a good year when it starts with Bomba's heavenly Manchego croquettes.

Kick it curbside this NYE with a giant street party. Melbourne Food & Wine Festival and The City of Melbourne are joining forces this year to host an outdoor dining experience like never before. Chin Chin joins the ranks of more than 50 venues across the city in plating up all your favourite dishes without missing a minute of the action. You can rest assured that the crew will deliver a flavour-packed feast with cocktails to match.

They say that however you spend your New Year's Eve is how you will spend the rest of the year, so make it count with a decadent five-course chef's menu from the masters of Japanese cuisine. If you're looking to go a step further, treat yourself to a one-of-a-kind event around the Chef's Table for a fine dining experience to remember at one of two sittings (6 pm or 9 pm). If you're eating the very best, you must drink the very best! Spoil yourself with a glass of Dom Perignon 2009 to toast to the new year. 

$165 per person for the five-course dinner menu, $275 for 6 pm Chef's Table (food only), $380 per person for 9 pm Chef's Table (food and drinks).

Parties are so 2020. This year the Stokehouse is upping the ante with a full-blown NYE extravaganza! Countdown to midnight with the sweet sound of the waves breaking at St Kilda Beach and enjoy the last sunset of the year. If you're worried about going hungry - don't be as guests will enjoy pre-dinner drinks, canapes of caviar, fresh oysters and more, followed by a four-course set menu.  Be sure to wear your dancing shoes as there is live entertainment all night long.

Thanks to the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, you now have double the chance of scoring a table at one of Melbourne's trendiest new eateries. Gimlet at Cavendish House is opening its doors and hitting the streets this NYE as part of Street Feasts. Leave your dining to experts inside with a bespoke set menu designed by chefs Andrew McConnell and Allan Eccles or sit down for supper outside and take your pick from their à la carte menu.

Another foodie favorite to join the street festivities, Matilda is serving up a special four-course menu just for the occasion featuring house favourites and tangy summer cocktails that can be enjoyed alfresco. For a more formal affair, Chef Scott Pickett and his team have curated two tasty menus to chose from. The first sitting offers a four-course feast with a complimentary glass of Champagne while the second serves up five-courses.
