Want to Dine Like a Celeb? These Are the A-List Approved Melbourne Restaurants Stars Love
From Drake to Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift to Jacob Elordi, celebs can't get enough of these Melbourne restaurants.
Melbourne has become that girl. The city celebrities slip into without fuss and then somehow do not want to leave. It has the pull of a favourite leather jacket and the confidence of someone who never has to ask for attention. Tour buses roll in, famous faces touch down, and before long they are doing exactly what locals do best: twirling pasta in a dim dining room, finding the wine bar with the perfect soundtrack, ordering the sandwich everyone talks about, or settling into an old pub with stories pressed into the walls.
That is Melbourne’s real seduction. It does not perform for fame. It absorbs it. The biggest names in the world can vanish into the room, fold into the rhythm of the city and eat outrageously well while they are here.
So if you have ever wanted to trace the Melbourne footsteps of Dua, Drake, Oasis, Tyler, Katy or Harry, consider this your invitation. These are the restaurants, bars, cafes and pubs the world’s biggest names cannot resist, and the spots where your next dinner reservation might come with a side of celebrity.
Alison Brie & Dave Franco
While filming Together in Melbourne, Alison Brie and Dave Franco made a habit of eating very well. Brie shared a stop at Moon Mart in West Melbourne (now located in South Melbourne), while Fitzroy’s Napier Quarter became part of their regular rotation, which tracks completely. One is all easy daytime charm; the other is polished steel, anchovy toast, and wine-bar romance. Consider it a two-stop guide to doing Melbourne like a very attractive film couple.
Napier Quarter, 359 Napier Street, Fitzroy
Moon Mart, 315 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne
Lorde
In Melbourne for her tour, Lorde slipped into Hope St Radio, the art-leaning wine bar at Collingwood Yards where natural wines, thoughtful plates and a creative crowd set the tone. It’s a place that suits her — understated, warm, and shaped by the city’s artistic pulse.
Hope St Radio, 35 Johnston Street, Collingwood
Oasis
In Melbourne for their world tour, Oasis popping into Punters Club Fitzroy feels almost too perfect — a legendary band slipping into one of the city’s most storied live-music pubs, freshly revived with its original grit and charm intact. The Brunswick Street haunt has long been a magnet for musos, late-night characters and anyone who favours a room with history in its walls, so their appearance landed like a cosmic bomb. With cold pints, loud guitars, zero pretence — and a current owner from Jet keeping the rock-and-roll DNA alive — Punters remains the place where great nights, and great stories, just happen.
376 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy
Tyler, The Creator
Pepe’s doesn’t just serve dinner, it stages it, with soaring ceilings, velvet booths and martinis poured with old-world polish. When Tyler, The Creator dropped in during his World Tour recently, it confirmed what’s plain to see: this Italian-American institution has the gravitational pull of an A-list magnet. Pasta lands with flair, Negronis glow beneath hand-painted murals, and Melbourne’s East End plays host to a dining room that feels straight off a film set.
275-285 Exhibition Street, Melbourne
Inka Williams
Marmont has quickly become one of Melbourne’s most magnetic tables, all Californian polish, Riverwalk glamour and a crowd that knows exactly where to be. During F1 weekend in 2025, Australian model Inka Williams, who has been linked with Channing Tatum, was reportedly spotted there, adding a little extra heat to a room that already had plenty. The buttermilk fried chicken has become one of the signatures, and the whole place feels built for long lunches, late cocktails and people worth looking at.

From Kylie Minogue to David Beckham: The Celebrity Pull of Caffe e Cucina
In the late ’80s, as Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan became household names on Neighbours, they also became regulars at a favourite table at Caffé e Cucina on Chapel Street. This iconic Italian eatery helped introduce Melbourne to European-style cafe culture with its intimate atmosphere, charming waiters and classic dishes. Kylie has long loved the Calamari Sant’Andrea — flour-dusted, shallow-fried calamari served with rocket and house dressing — and she even returned in 2021. F1 drivers and football royalty (hello, Lando Norris and David Beckham) have followed, confirming its staying power decades on.

Where Dua Dined, Shopped & Relaxed in Melbourne: Round Two
Dua Lipa wrapped up the Melbourne leg of her Radical Optimism tour in March 2025, but not before making her mark on the city’s hottest spots. She hit Fitzroy’s dreamy Carnation Canteen for lunch, sipped cocktails at Crown’s Marmont, and soaked up the vibes at Cam’s Kiosk, indulging in crudo and DJ sets. But her real obsession? Hector’s Deli — she lost it over the tuna melt (a personal Sitchu fave), declaring their sangas the best in town.
For some downtime, she slipped into the steamy bliss of Alba Thermal Springs, admired the magic of Yayoi Kusama at the NGV, and dug through vinyl at Plug Seven. Melbourne, consider yourself Dua-approved.

Gracie Abrams
Gracie Abrams made a pre-show stop at Masses Bagels back in May 2025, choosing the persimmon and, frankly, confirming excellent taste. If you are in the mood for a little Gracie-core morning, this is your cue: hair bow on, emotions slightly fragile, bagel in hand. It is the ideal setting for leaning into your heartbreak heroine era, with carbs doing at least some of the emotional heavy lifting.
5 Smith Street, Fitzroy
Drake
It should come as no surprise that Drake’s culinary tour de force in Melbourne has been nothing short of spectacular. Since his arrival on 29th January 2025, he’s indulged in a lavish feast at Nobu — a bonafide celebrity hotspot where the sushi alone could bring you to your knees. Then, he upped the ante with lunch at Chris Lucas’ new French dining mecca, Maison Bâtard, where he savoured perfectly cooked steak and the signature Poulet Rôti aux Olives — succulent roasted chicken with green olives, fresh herbs, and a rich sauce, all paired with silky pommes purée.
The man knows good food, and he’s not afraid to name-drop his favourite spots from Toronto to NYC.

Harry Styles
You never know who might be queuing at CIBI, Collingwood’s much-loved Japanese cafe and design store. In early 2023, it was Harry Styles, fresh off tour and slipping neatly into Melbourne mode. Dressed in one of his signature offbeat looks, he stopped in for coffee among ceramic bowls, design books and the cafe’s serene, deeply considered surrounds. With nourishing Japanese plates, beautifully curated wares and an atmosphere that feels worlds away from the city rush, CIBI was always going to be his speed.
CIBI, 33-39 Keele Street, Collingwood
Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden (and Paul Mescal)
While filming Foe in Victoria in 2022, Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal slipped easily into Melbourne life. Director Garth Davis later said the pair “really just became locals,” and Ronan was reported cycling around Fitzroy and dining at local taco bar Little Hop with her partner, Jack Lowdon. Mescal was also spotted around Fitzroy during the same period, adding to the sense that both actors took to Melbourne with very little fuss.

Dua Lipa in Melbourne: Round One
When Dua Lipa waltzes into Melbourne, she doesn’t settle for second-rate nosh. The pop queen has previously been spotted at Hope Street Radio, alongside Aussie sensation Troye Sivan, where the wine flows as freely as the indie tunes. She also dined out at Gimlet at Cavendish House, which is all about old-world glamour, sipping cocktails that could make Gatsby weep. Over at Carlton Wine Room, it’s all about long lunches and even longer pours of vino. Then there’s NOMAD, where smoky, Middle Eastern flavours reign supreme — because a star needs a feast, not a snack.
And, of course, a night out isn’t complete without hitting Electric Bar in Prahran, where she let loose with friends on the dancefloor.

Troye Sivan
Troye Sivan is a fiend for Melbourne’s wine bar circuit, and he brings his famous friends along for the ride. He was spotted sipping natural vino with Dua Lipa at Hope St Radio, the Collingwood hangout where the focaccia has its own fan club. He’s also partial to Embla, a laneway favourite known for its low-lit allure, smart share plates and serious wine list. When Troye isn’t dropping hits, he’s dropping into the city’s sharpest spots, proving good taste runs through every part of his DNA, dinner plans included.

Jacob Elordi
Brisbane-born and Melbourne-educated, Euphoria, Saltburn and Priscilla star Jacob Elordi knows his way around Melbourne’s food scene. Keeping things effortlessly low-key, he has been spotted at Florian in Carlton North, lingering over coffee and soft-boiled eggs in a way that makes the city’s cafe culture look especially appealing. Around the same time, he was seen blending in over pints at Richmond’s favourite, the Spread Eagle Hotel. Simple, unfussy and very Melbourne.

Jamie Oliver
Jamie Oliver ate very well on his last Melbourne visit in 2023. His local hit list stretched from the fire and flair of Filipino restaurant Serai to the old-school comfort of Leonardo’s Pizza Palace, with stops at Gimlet, Lagoon Dining, Cumulus Inc. and Supernormal along the way. It is a line-up that tracks completely: sharp cooking, serious personality and some of the city’s most reliably excellent rooms. If you are eating your way through Melbourne like a celebrity chef, this is not a bad place to start.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker
We’re convinced that Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker rolled into Melbourne back in early 2024, not for the glitz, but for the grub. They tucked into no-frills vegan sandwiches at Smith & Deli, where plant-based eats punch well above their weight. Later, they hit Lona Misa in South Yarra for bold Latin flavours with a twist. Forget the red carpet; Melbourne’s food scene is where the real stars shine.
