The Best Breweries in Brisbane for a Fresh-From-The-Source Pint

Looking for a new local? The best breweries in Brisbane will tick all of your boxes.

Brisbane has a long history of brewing its own beers, extending well back into the 1800s. After a bit of a lull, a revival in the early 2000s (thanks, Brisbane Brewing Co!) has seen craft breweries on the up and up, and we’re glad to see it. With Brisbane’s year-round sunshine, it’s no wonder the city has embraced the joy of a perfectly frosty lager.

Today, Brisbane’s craft breweries are more than just places to sink a pint. They’ve become a modern kind of third place — welcoming to families, filled with familiar faces, and deeply connected to their local communities. From festivals and community events to run clubs and trivia nights, these breweries offer far more than great beer. Whether you’re new to the city or simply on the hunt for a new local haunt, Brisbane’s best breweries are an excellent place to start.

27 South Brewing

27 South Brewing‘s first permanent taproom is everything we hoped for. They’ve got a bunch of brews on tap rotation, including favourites Daisy Chain Hazy Pale, Crack the Sky Modern IPA and Sunsets Lager.

The relaxed taproom features a bright, coastal palette in classic industrial style, with tanks full of the good stuff surrounding the space. Keep your eyes peeled for more to come as the team sets to expand their offering.

Felons Brewing Co

Tucked underneath the iconic Story Bridge, Felons Brewing Co itself is another state capital icon. They’ve been serving up crisp lagers, refreshing pale ales, and a selection of limited releases to the people of Brisbane since 2018. And in less than a decade, they’ve established themselves as a city staple, offering up not one but four spaces to enjoy a pint. Sip on beers surrounded by steel tanks in the brewery itself, or soak up some sun on the banks of the river at the Fish N Chipper. There’s also a beer garden and a river deck from which Felons’ brews can be enjoyed.

More than just a brewery, Felons places a huge emphasis on community, hosting a range of events throughout the year, from cinema sessions to yoga and trivia.

Sitchu Tip: Fancy combining a few of your favourite things into one weekly social moment? The Felons Brewing Co run club will sort you out!

Range Brewing

Fun is the name of the game at Range Brewing. These craft beer connoisseurs offer 16 rotating taps that vary week to week, with their Disco Hazy Pale Ale a particular favourite. Their tap room itself is a sleek take on a functioning brewery, with shiny tanks setting the scene and modern, tiled tables lending a crisp and clean aesthetic.

Their food offering is equally exceptional by way of their London-style pizzas. These sleek pizza boxes contain long-fermented dough bases with toppings extending right to the crusts.

Sealegs Brewing Co

Visit Sealegs once, and you’ll be hooked. Offering a top-quality experience, everything at this brewery is about elevated simplicity, from the tap room to the can design. If you like a good meal with your brew, Sealegs is the place to be. Their menu boasts your classic burgers, wings and small plates, but the real highlight is the Detroit-style pizza that pairs oh so perfectly with a pint. Drizzle over some of Sealegs’ homemade hot sauce, and you’ve got the perfect afternoon laid out.

89 Main Street, Kangaroo Point

Brisbane Brewing Co

Brisbane’s original craft brewery has been going strong since 2005, serving up its own range of craft brews from two locations. Head to the heritage pub Woolloongaba location for a pub atmosphere or the West End brewery for the tap room experience. Whilst Brisbane Brewing Co‘s IPA is a firm favourite, their Clarence Ginger Beer and hard lemonade are also top-notch and well-loved amongst the non-beer drinkers.

Sitchu Tip: Swing by for burger night or steak night if you want a serious bargain!

West End & Woolloongaba

Aether Brewing

This busy brewery swings open its doors every weekend to welcome one and all. Big on creativity, you won’t struggle to find their taproom, covered in colourful art, just like their beer cans. You’ll have 16 rotating beverages to sip from, on tap, as well as a range of artisan spirits and wines for those not so keen on the brewed stuff. Aether Brewing is keen on experimentation, so you’ll always find something a little different to sip on here. Peckish? Miteys Burgers will sort you out.
