Three Drink Theory: Finding Brisbane’s Viral Drinks
Our Brisbane editor takes you on a journey to try the tastiest drinks around town.
If you’ve spent even the bare minimum amount of time online, you’ve likely been exposed to the “three drink theory” – the trend where you require three drinks at any given moment, one to hydrate, one to caffeinated, and one to alleviate.
While some of us consider these three emotional support beverages as the height of luxury, it can also act as a little mood booster to get you through a busy day at the office, or an excuse to catch up with a friend on the weekend to try a specific viral drink you’ve seen making the rounds on social.
In any case, this is a trend (or, perhaps, a lifestyle choice) that I can well and truly get behind.
So, my fellow beverage goblins, scroll on and discover where to find the must-try viral drinks in Brisbane. Or, if you know of one that hasn’t made the list, let me know! Slide into the @sitchu.brisbane DMs and let’s talk drinks.
Kin’s Iced Matcha Concoctions
If you’re on the hunt for the best strawberry matcha latte in Brisbane, we’d like to nominate Kin as a top contender!
Blending their homemade strawberry purée and ceremonial grade matcha with your choice of milk, the team creates a perfect blend of sweet fruity flavours and the mellow vegetal notes of the tea.
Kin also keep it creative with fun drink specials. During May, you can try their pistachio iced matcha, made from Uji matcha blended with house pistachio butter, blossom water and milk, topped with vanilla bean cream soft top and pistachio matcha dust. To make it dairy-free, just choose your milk and opt out of the cream on top!
It’s a must-try, and makes for the perfect sip to savour as you stroll along the river walk.

Darvella’s Monthly Drink Specials
We’re long-term lovers of Darvella’s perfectly flaky croissants and wide range of sweet and savoury baked treats, but we’ve also noticed that they’ve been upping their ante when it comes to the drinks scene.
For a limited time, pop by their Bulimba location to try the Kinder Bueno Iced Chocolate, a luxurious blend of you choice of milk, Lindt Chocolate and a swirl of their signature Kinder cream.
Or, opt for the go-to viral drink, their whipped strawberry matcha. Combining earthy matcha with whipped strawberry cream, this drink will linger long in your mind after you try it for the first time!

‘feind Cafe’s Mont Blanc
‘feind Cafe is Spring Hill’s hole in the wall that’s been going absolutely viral on Instagram lately, thanks to their signature Mont Blanc drink. Wondering what’s in it? Here’s the rundown: cold brew is poured over ice and mixed with brown sugar syrup, before being topped with cream cold foam, a sprinkle of orange zest and a dusting of nutmeg. The result? A creamy, refreshing and comforting coffee that will have you hooked in no time.
The newest addition to the menu is the Cinnamon Doughnut coffee: your milk of choice, mixed with espresso and vanilla, topped with chai spice cold foam and a mini cinnamon doughnut to snack on while you sip.
What are you waiting for? Head into ‘feind for a monty stat… you can thank us later.

Buttery Boy’s Bougie Hot Choc
Mr Duncans Collective is shaking up the sipping scene in Chinatown, with the arrival of their bougie new hot chocolates at Buttery Boy! Having recently extended their hours of trade, you can now visit the Buttery Boy cafe between 6pm-8pm on Fridays and Saturdays for a late-night sweet treat.
The new menu additions include a cookies and cream and a white chocolate brulee flavour, with the option to add Baileys to either hot choc to make your bougie drink a little boozy.
