A reckless claim? Perhaps. But we were far too busy devouring runny-yolk perfection and buttery pastries to debate it.

From golden, eggy classics to impossibly flaky baked goods, Perth’s breakfast scene doesn’t just wake you up—it pulls you in, takes you by the hand, and leads you somewhere unexpected. Even the flavours of our Asian neighbours have found their way onto the morning table, proving that the best breakfasts in Perth aren’t just eaten; they’re experienced.

Young George

Beloved by its East Freo community for its reliable, WA-proud food and exceptional cocktails, Young George has once again pleased the masses with the return of its weekend breakfast service. Serving bright and early from Friday to Sunday, head down to the bustling cafe housed inside a 120-year-old building and pull up a chair. You’ll get a hit of nostalgia when you order the Weet-Bix pudding French toast, stacked with vanilla custard and crunchy cornflake topping, while the sourdough crumpet is perfect when you’re craving a lighter bite. Yum.

Kith Eatery

Kith Eatery in Nedlands nails it with every bite—and matcha isn’t just a trend, it’s a vibe. The tropical iced matcha is a liquid holiday, blending mango, passionfruit, and matcha into a refreshing masterpiece. For a sweeter touch, the strawberry iced matcha offers a tangy-sweet moment of joy. Pair these with halloumi and zucchini fritters, avocado toast with goat’s curd and heirloom tomatoes, or one decadent vanilla pancake stack topped with maple and miso mascarpone and fresh strawberries.

After 10:00 am, dive into a hot honey chicken sandwich or the gin-cured salmon plate. All in all, it’s breakfast with a serious attitude, influenced by the owners’ Malaysian and Sicilian roots. And the pastries from Teeter Bakery? Simply the best.

Nogi Lane

Nogi Lane is a modern neighbourhood cafe in north-reaching Dianella, where you’ll find a talented chef playing on brunch classics by way of his Burmese and Indian heritage. Think eggs Benedict with a cardamom-spiked hollandaise; prawn toast with garlic chive omelette, a masterful sticky date pudding baked pancake topped with caramel popcorn, coconut caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, and some of the best cinny scrolls money can buy.

Little Bay

With its bright and airy ambience, gorgeous white aesthetic and spectacular views of Waterman’s Bay, it’s hard to beat Little Bay for a leisurely and indulgent weekend breakfast. Sit outside to enjoy the salty ocean air with your coffee, or grab a table inside and watch the world go by through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The menu is full of mouthwatering options, from buttermilk fried chicken waffles to lighter options like avocado smash.

Yalla Balla

Tucked in Leederville’s Electric Lane, Yalla Bala is a Middle Eastern street food haven with a twist. Here, you’ll find crispy falafel, marinated chicken shawarma, and a hummus that feels like it was made by someone who truly cares. The zhug and amba? Just the right amount of punch. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience, served up by a family who knows how to make you feel right at home. Expect bold flavours, good vibes, and a spot you’ll want to keep returning to.

Canteen Trigg

This bright and airy beachside cafe oozes the authentic, laid-back coastal vibe of Trigg, with a delicious mix of fresh, locally sourced breakfast and brunch options, alongside excellent coffee. There’s plenty of seating inside, you can grab a table outside to savour your coffee in the sunshine, or take your tray down to the sand, only steps away, and enjoy with a side of unbeatable ocean views. Menu standouts include the smashed avo toast (served with a crunchy dukkah) and the hotcakes with berry compote and mascarpone whip.

Wards Central Dining

Wards Central Dining in Shenton Park delivers a breakfast experience that’s all about big flavours and fresh ingredients. With a focus on quality, their menu features hearty dishes like eggs Benedict, a three cheese omelette drizzled with chilli oil, Mexican-style avocado toast, fluffy pancakes and indulgent pastries, perfect for your morning pick-me-up. The bright, modern space invites you to sit back and enjoy your meal, making it one of Perth’s go-to spots for a satisfying and flavoursome start to the day. Grab your coffee, and enjoy the vibe.

Known for its innovative take on the classic eggs for brekkie, Eggspot has fast become a go-to breakfast spot (and an exceptional hangover cure). Eggspot sling their delicious egg burger creations from the Freo Markets and their storefront in North Perth. With mouthwatering combos like kransky and hash brown, or fried chicken and bacon, it’s no wonder this place is such a hit – hangover or not.

Bib & Tucker

An oceanside table with Immaculate views across Leighton beach, a relaxed vibe and excellent coffee awaits at this North Fremantle favourite. Bib & Tucker offer all day dining, but there are some all-time classics on the breakfast menu that you definitely need to try. We can’t go past the zucchini and halloumi fritters or the Turkish eggs. So good.

Good Things 

This cafe is all Good Things! This light-filled, friendly spot is one of our all time favourites, for the fluffiest, diner-style and seasonal buttermilk hotcakes, the creamiest coffee and some of the best eggs in town. The poached eggs with hollandaise, pickled zucchini and thick cut sourdough are undeniable, as are the Korean sambal-scramble. Add a side of fried chicken to anything and you really can’t go wrong here.

Servo Leederville

Slinging some of the best breakfast in Perth to busy weekend crowds, Servo Leederville is a vibrant spot where health, hedonism, and bold flavours collide. Housed in a bright, industrial-inspired space, its menu has something for everyone—smoked shakshuka with cumin and tahini butter, a beef brekky burger loaded with bacon, egg, cheese, ranch, and chipotle, or chia seed porridge with blueberry compote. For the ultimate brunch fix, don’t miss the pork katsu with creamed corn, poached egg, and bulldog sauce—you won’t regret it.

Laika Coffee

Home to specialty coffee and the best pancake stacks in the business, Laika is a cafe, roastery, and morning destination for some of the best breakfast in Perth. Come relax in their laid-back surrounds and enjoy loaded croissants filled with whipped ricotta, salmon, yuzu, dill, and capers, chilli crab scramble, and homemade crumpets with berry compote, grilled banana, and vanilla mascarpone. Our current favourite brunch dish is the seriously stunning pancake stack, topped with passionfruit pavlova, mascarpone cheese, berry compote, passionfruit curd, honeycomb, and meringue.

11 Lathlain Place, Lathlain 

Mary Street Bakery

Purveyor of fine salted caramel doughnuts, fried chicken, buttermilk pancakes, and some of the best soft eggs in town, cult-favourite Mary Street Bakery needs little introduction to Perth’s most enlightened breakfast-goers. Now boasting multiple locations across the city, we recommend heading to the corner-store charm of the cafe’s original Highgate digs. With its split-level interiors, it’s a light-filled and ambient spot where you can tuck into some of the best breakfast in Perth…with a side of pressed juice, of course!

Serving all-day brunch and coffee by Micrology Coffee Roasters and inspired by New York City’s funky Soho district, this cafe exudes happy vibes from within its pink décor. On any day of the week, you can get your pastrami fix on rye, diner-style pancakes, chicken and waffles or Turkish eggs. They also offer catering for your next decadent soiree.

Piccolo’s Corner 

This adorable spot has got to be one of the best neighbourhood cafes in Perth. With its eclectic décor, excellent coffee and lush, leafy surrounds, brunch at Piccolo’s Corner is an absolute delight. The menu is extensive and one that you’ll almost certainly struggle to choose from – mostly because it all sounds so good! Whatever you choose, this is the perfect spot to spend a lovely, slow weekend morning.

Padbury’s Cafe Restaurant

Hidden in the iconic Padbury Stores and Residence building, established in 1869, Padbury’s Cafe Restaurant has long been a beloved fixture in historic Guildford. Their all-day menu is nothing short of inspiring, featuring everything from bânh mi to magic mushrooms. But it’s their Insta-famous fluffy lemon meringue buttermilk pancakes that steal the show—stacked high with homemade lemon curd, lemon candy, honeycomb, and granola. After indulging, continue the decadence next door with a browse at Panache Living for stylish homewares and fashion.

Island Market Trigg

Enjoy a side of surf with your breakfast on WA’s famed turquoise coastline in the seaside suburb of Trigg. While direct beach access is rare in Perth, Island Market Trigg has perfected the art of seaside dining. Here, you can sip a cheeky Bellini, paired with Five Senses coffee, waffles, and sardines on toast, all while the water practically laps at your feet. The only thing they’re guilty of? Serving up some seriously tempting morning cocktails.

Viaje Coffee

Slip into Beaux Lane off Mt Lawley’s main cafe strip, and you’ll find Viaje Coffee tucked away – it’s the charming pink building near the carpark. Their evolving breakfast menu features delights like waffles with avocado smash and miso mushroom scrambled eggs. Since opening in September 2021, they’ve built a loyal following. Can’t secure a table? No worries – their takeaway house-made pastries and expertly brewed coffee will keep you going.

Satchmo Cafe

At Satchmo Cafe, you can almost hear the distinct New York accents as you peruse their menu, featuring matzo ball chicken soup, knish, and bagels. These sit alongside New Orleans classics like Louisiana gumbo and the Buffalo fried chicken sandwich. This beatnik haven in North Perth serves breakfast all day and comes alive on Sunday mornings with live blues and jazz – a fitting tribute to the legendary Louis Armstrong, who inspired this charming cafe.

Roasting Warehouse

This converted petrol station turned cafe elevates the breakfast scene in South Fremantle’s cafe mecca. The re-imagined eggs benny Chan, with soft-boiled eggs encased in panko and roti, is a standout, while the Asian-inspired pork omelette is nothing short of a revelation. Paired with unique small-batch coffee blends, viral matcha blends and all-day cocktails—because who says espresso martinis aren’t acceptable before noon? Their all-day brunch menu is a bold, irresistible invitation to indulge.
