Dolce Venezia
Say ciao to Fremantle’s newest slice of Italy: Dolce Venezia. Full of authentic charm, this pint-sized coffee shop on South Terrace is baking fresh, fluffy focaccias and buttery croissants on the daily. Mornings start with rich espresso and a flaky croissant from the cabinet — keep it plain or try flavours like pistachio, custard and more. While, come midday, it’s all about their stacked focaccia sandwiches, made fresh and brimming with premium ingredients (think mortadella, stracciatella, pistachios and silky pistachio cream or ham, provolone, sundried tomatoes and parmesan cream). Finish with a tub of their homemade tiramisu, served traditional or with a pistachio-infused spin, and you’ll be feeling molto bene indeed.
Tuesday to Sunday, 7am to late afternoon

The Bridge House
Located in North Fremantle inside a 100-year-old cottage, this charming dining spot feels like a well-kept local secret. Evenings read elegant and romantic. An alfresco that hums beneath bristling leaves and festoon lights. A cosy dining room that glows with the flickering of candlelight. And tables that unfold over decadent Mediterranean-inspired plates and good wine. But as of this month, you can trade those indulgent nights for a softer start. Brunch is now being served in the gorgeous sun-dappled courtyard every weekend. Expect the same chic, sophisticated vibe alongside good coffee and contemporary brunch dishes like Turkish eggs, forest mushrooms and truffle burrata, chorizo chilli scrambled eggs, and tiramisu French toast. If you were searching for a new brekky spot to try, The Bridge House is it!
Friday to Sunday, 7.30am to 2.30pm

Pally Canteen
Nestled in the heart of Fremantle, Pally Canteen is the adorable new spot from the team behind Palette Cafe in North Fremantle. While Palette offers the whole shebang, from morning coffees and hearty brunches to long lunches, cocktails and late-night nibbles, they’ve taken a much more focused approach here. Most notably, you won’t be able to get any hot drinks (do you really want one right now?), with the cute red canteen specialising in a curated edit of iced flavoured matchas, cold brews and mont blancs. On the eats front, they’re also keeping it super simple with a rotating line-up of grab-and-go snacks. Think: herby chicken sandwiches, birria toasties and four-cheese toasties with truffle honey drizzle.
The only catch? Pally Canteen is only here til the end of March, so get in asap.
The Piazza, 18-36 South Terrace, Fremantle
Love Ya So Matcha
If you love matcha, Love Ya So Matcha’s new FOMO Freo spot is a must. Those in the know may already be familiar with the name. They’ve developed a bit of a cult following across the market scene, with many claiming they do the best matcha in all of Perth. Big call? Yes, but the deep, vibrant green hue is a clear sign they’re onto something very good indeed. Founded by Japanese mother-daughter duo Aileen and Yoko, Love Ya So Matcha uses organic, ceremonial-grade tea sourced from Japan and whisked by hand for a smooth, mellow, gently sweet cup that makes you realise just how good matcha can really be.
This one is technically a pop-up, but after a successful run, they’ve decided to extend, so consider it your sign to get down.

808 Specialty Coffee
Good coffee (featuring beans courtesy of Parkside Coffee’s sister roaster Good People Nice Things), specialty sips (think matchas, cold foams and mont blancs) and tasty treats await at 808 Specialty Coffee in Perth. Come for the heavenly choc coconut matcha cloud and a little baked treat — Croff Bakehouse goodies like spinach and ricotta rolls and matcha white chocolate cookies, as well as Tasha Bakery’s famous madeleines, are all here — and stick around for the relaxed, community vibes. You’ll be a regular before you know it.
