The pop-up kiosk will run the regular line-up, the Classic Choc Chip, Cookie Butter Cookie, Red Velvet and NYC Cookie, boxed up in that pink packaging the brand’s known for. And who knows, if we’re lucky, the pop-up could be the first step towards a permanent store, just like we saw in Adelaide. A girl can dream!

Old Young’s

After Nearly Losing Everything, This WA Distillery Is Now the World’s Best

Talk about a comeback story. Less than a year after entering voluntary administration, Swan Valley distillery Old Young’s has just claimed the title of world’s best gin at the 2026 ADI International Spirits Awards in California.

Old Young’s Common Gin took out the coveted Best Gin in the World title, while the distillery’s signature 1829 Gin also picked up awards for Best Gin & Tonic and Best Classic Gin. The milestone arrives as Old Young’s celebrates its 10th anniversary, marking a new chapter for one of WA’s most-loved craft spirit producers after a challenging period of restructuring and renewal.

“When you’re lying awake at 2am every night worrying about debts, investors and our 55 staff instead of getting excited about what’s coming off the still, you know you’ve drifted too far away from what you love,” explained Old Young’s founder James Young.

“Given the last 18 months, these awards are incredibly meaningful. They prove the quality never went away. Our booze stayed world class, even when life was a challenge.”

As if that wasn’t enough reason to raise a glass, the distillery is also reviving its cult Black Cherry Gin and releasing a highly limited “Cream of the Crop” anniversary bottling crafted from a decade’s worth of distilling history, with just 100 bottles to be created.

“It’s the only product we physically could not have made without surviving ten years,” said Young. “In a very literal way, it’s our first decade captured in liquid form.”

A New Farm-To-Fork Dining Mecca Only 30 Minutes From Perth

A new chapter has begun at 11 Acre Farm in Forrestdale with the opening of The Good Paddock—a farm-to-fork restaurant that blends rustic charm, thoughtful dining and a deep connection to the land.

Led by head chef Sufendi “Fendi” Bong and supported by an a-list team, including former Millbrook Winery gardener Mitchell Seward, the kitchen draws directly from the farm’s orchards, gardens and permaculture beds, creating seasonal menus that honour produce at its freshest. Expect nourishing breakfast bowls and farmhouse-style omelettes in the morning, followed by shared burrata plates, spring crudo and hearty mains like pork with greens or fisherman’s broth later in the day.

More than just a restaurant, it’s a place to linger. Families are warmly welcomed, with sprawling gardens, play areas and the newly relaunched Cubby Kiosk, serving coffee, baked treats and easy grab-and-go meals for little ones and grown-ups exploring the property. Farm animals are also on site, so you can take the kids out to meet roaming alpacas, sheep, goats, bunnies and a variety of heritage-breed chickens while you’re there.

The Good Paddock feels both grounded and generous, where long lunches, special celebrations or quiet moments in nature come with orchard views and the scent of woodsmoke and herbs in the air. With pop-up dinners and seasonal events on the horizon, this new semi-rural farm restaurant just 30 minutes from Perth is set to become one of the city’s most memorable dining experiences.

The Bridge House Now Serves Brunch

Located in North Fremantle inside a 100-year-old cottage, this charming dining spot feels like a well-kept local secret. Evenings read elegant and romantic. An alfresco that hums beneath bristling leaves and festoon lights. A cosy dining room that glows with the flickering of candlelight. And tables that unfold over decadent Mediterranean-inspired plates and good wine. But as of this month, you can trade those indulgent nights for a softer start. Brunch is now being served in the gorgeous sun-dappled courtyard every weekend. Expect the same chic, sophisticated vibe alongside good coffee and contemporary brunch dishes like Turkish eggs, forest mushrooms and truffle burrata, chorizo chilli scrambled eggs, and tiramisu French toast. If you were searching for a new brekky spot to try, The Bridge House is it!

Perth’s New Country Fixation Is Here

With its sweaty dancefloors packed shoulder to shoulder each and every week, Honky Tonk in Fremantle has proven Perth’s affinity for a good country-themed bar. Now, you’ve got another boot scootin’ option smack back in the centre of Northbridge.

Taking over the former Jack Rabbit Slims site, Yee-Haw brings two levels of country-themed mayhem that’ll run well into the wee hours each and every weekend. Downstairs, there’s a massive stage for live music and DJs and a spacious dance floor wrapped by booth seating (you know, if you need to catch your breath). Upstairs, you’ll find Dolly’s Lounge — a private escape inspired by the queen of country that’s perfect for birthdays, bachelorettes and more.

The fun kicks off this Friday, with back-to-back country hoedowns — think: live bands, line dancing and DJs washed down with Yee-Hard Lemonade, a dangerous house-batched carbonated punch made with vodka, tequila and lemon.

Order a slice with your brew of choice and find a moment to pause and appreciate each and every morsel. Located at 138 Barrack Street, nook. is now open Monday to Saturday.

La Taqueria

La Taqueria Brings Authentic Birria to Fremantle

Started by two friends, both from Jalisco, Mexico, La Taqueria has been quietly building a loyal following around the Perth market scene for years. Their quesabirria tacos are some of the best you’ll find in Perth, featuring 12-hour slow-cooked birria beef marinated with guajillo chili, Oaxaca cheese and a rich consommé for the dunk. Now, the pair have landed in a permanent spot in the Fremantle Markets. Come in for authentic flautas, quesadillas, gringas and more, alongside traditional sips like agua fresca and horchata. Everything’s made with genuine care and quality ingredients, all based on traditional recipes passed down over generations. Oh, and don’t be afraid to add the spicy housemade condiments on to your order too — they take things to a whole other level.

Gibney

Back-to-Back Wins: Gibney Officially Remains Perth’s Best Restaurant

For the first time in WA Good Food Guide Award history, the same restaurant has been crowned Restaurant of the Year for two consecutive years. That history-making restaurant was, of course, no other than George Kailis’ glamorous beachside dining jewel, Gibney. Recognised for its meticulous attention to detail across cuisine, design and service, the back-to-back win cements the restaurant’s status as the state’s best.

Owner George Kailis said the historic win was a testament to the people behind the restaurant and the city that continues to support it.

“I couldn’t be prouder of our entire team, from the kitchen to the floor, who show up every day with passion, precision and a genuine love of their craft,” Kailis said.

“To win Restaurant of the Year once is an honour. To win it back-to-back, for the first time ever, is incredibly special. Perth has truly embraced everything we hoped Gibney would be – Gibney exists because of that trust and enthusiasm from our patrons.”

Held on Tuesday 17th February, the annual WA Good Food Guide (WAGFG) Awards celebrate the state’s brightest hospitality operators and talent across a wide range of categories. View more of the winners here.

Crown Unveils Its New Casual Food Precinct

Crown Perth has officially opened its new Urban Food District, a casual dining and bar precinct bringing a fresh wave of global eats to the entertainment hub. The new space includes multiple dining options and three bars — including a hidden hip hop-inspired speakeasy and an outdoor beer garden — alongside weekend DJs and live music.

Leading the line-up are three international concepts making their Australian debut: cult egg burger spot Burgers by ES (known as Eggslut in the US), New York-style Side Piece Pizza and Las Vegas import Tekka Bar, serving premium hand-rolled sushi and sake. Local talent is also on show, with Masterchef alum and renowned restauranteur Jenny Lam opening Saigon Story for banh mi and Vietnamese street food flavours, while local food truck fave, Taco Daddy, is set to open its first brick and mortar venue in the coming weeks.

Just a short walk from Optus Stadium, the Urban Food District will trade late on weekends — ideal for a pre-show feed or post-game drink.

It’s Pupusas And Boozy Horchata At This New Nedlands Spot

You’ve heard of tacos. You’ve heard of empanadas. But have you tried a pupusa? If not, you’re about to… Nedlands is getting a serious Latin American flavour fix with the arrival of Masa Mesa, opening Friday 13th February.

The new eatery is the long-time dream of Chef Erick Martinez (ex-Tiny’s, Duende, Andaluz Bar & Tapas and, most recently, private members’ club Lawson Flats) and his wife Lara, bringing together Erick’s El Salvadoran roots and Lara’s Argentinian heritage in a comforting menu and relaxed space both built for sharing.

Pupusas are the star of the show — golden griddled mesa (corn) tortillas stuffed with fillings like cheese and pork, or spinach and black beans, served with a tangy slaw and fresh salsa. You’ll also find empanadas, tacos, smoky asado-style meats cooked over a traditional Argentinian parrilla grill, plus churros and alfajores for dessert.

Masa Mesa officially opens next Friday 13th February, just in time for a Valentine’s Day dinner.

Scott Bridger Unveils New Seaside Kitchen, Pearla & Co.

North Fremantle is set for a new coastal arrival, with Pearla & Co. opening Wednesday 3rd of December under the direction of celebrated chef Scott Bridger.

The launch marks Bridger’s return to Leighton Beach, the shoreline where he helped define Perth’s modern beachside dining scene as co-founder, co-owner and executive chef of Bib & Tucker. At Pearla & Co., he continues that legacy with a menu centred on WA seafood, dry-aged fish and produce sourced from growers he’s worked alongside for years.

“Pearla & Co. is about simple things done beautifully — the kind of food you want to eat with friends, made with produce you actually care about,” says Bridger.

The former Al Lupo site has been refreshed with recycled materials, crafted finishes and a striking Verde Indio bar, plus an open cold station for oysters and seafood prepared to order. A FoodCube garden at the entrance supplies herbs and edible leaves picked fresh each morning, reinforcing the venue’s connection to land and coast.

The name reflects both excellence — a “pearler” — and the community of fishers, growers and makers represented in the “Co.”, while also slipping in a cheeky nod to his nan, Pearl.

Bookings are available here.
