DoorDash Now Lets You Book Australia’s Hottest Restaurants

DoorDash is officially moving from your go-to for nights in to your new secret weapon for nights out. The platform has launched Reservations, a sleek new dining feature now live in Sydney and Melbourne, and it’s set to change the way you book restaurants across both cities.

The rollout marks a major milestone for DoorDash Australia, following its acquisition of hospitality platform SevenRooms. The new move will make it possible to secure table bookings from some of the country’s most in-demand restaurants directly through the DoorDash app.

From today, diners can browse and book SevenRooms-powered reservations at restaurants across Sydney and Melbourne, including hotspots like Bar Julius, Di Stassio Carlton, Embla, Harriot and Lottie. Even better? DashPass users get access to exclusive tables, meaning you can still score a prime-time booking even when a venue appears fully booked elsewhere.

Using Reservations is intentionally simple. Open the DoorDash app, tap the new Reservations icon, filter by date, time, and party size, and book instantly. Once you’ve dined, you’ll automatically earn DoorDash credits to use on future food and grocery orders. For launch, DoorDash is offering $10 back in credits per attended booking, or $12 for DashPass members.

Prestige venues have already embraced the feature, from hatted restaurants to cult neighbourhood favourites. Melbourne’s Embla says the partnership opens the door to “a diverse bunch of potential new regulars,” while Sydney’s Bar Julius is looking forward to welcoming more guests from DoorDash’s wider network.

For restaurants, the integration offers new visibility and a simplified way to attract the right diners. For the rest of us, it’s one app, one tap, and one less thing to think about when organising a night out… (a major win in our eyes).

With more cities planned soon, Reservations is set to become the easiest way to secure your next unforgettable dining experience, and get rewarded while you’re at it.
