This Wintry Wine Cellar Door is Making a Comeback
One of Sydney’s best wine days is returning this July, and it’s bigger than last year. On Sunday 5 July, NSW Wine is taking over the Carriageworks Blacksmith Workshop in Eveleigh, bringing together 20-plus of the state’s finest producers for a day of pouring, storytelling and good drinking. Drops will span regions from the Hunter Valley and Orange to Mudgee, Griffith and the Southern Highlands, and the first 400 pre-purchased tickets come with a tote bag, tasting glass and entry into a draw to win a mixed dozen valued at over $400! Freda’s Is Popping up for a Delicious Foodie Moment
If the name Freda’s means anything to you, then clear your Thursday. The beloved Chippendale party bar (and former home of late-night dancing, legendary fish finger sandwiches and a music policy that launched more than a few careers) is popping up at Redfern’s Bat & Ball Hotel for one night only. Head chef Joey Astorga, who cut his teeth in Freda’s kitchen, is behind the homage menu, so you can expect the much-missed Fish Finger Sandwich, a Cafe de Freda’s Steak and cocktails riffing on the old Cafe Freda’s classics. On the music front, psych jam band Manfredo Lament and electronic duo Bondi Boys play live, with DJ sets from Milkpaste, Crabby and Salami keeping things going until midnight. The Good Food & Wine Show Is Back in Sydney
Australia’s longest-running food and wine event is back in Sydney this month, and the 2026 program has a couple of exciting additions worth knowing about. The Good Food & Wine Show rolls into the ICC, showcasing hundreds of wines to taste, live cooking demos, artisan producers to shop.
Baker’s Alley brings together some of Australia’s best independent bakeries each with an exclusive baked creation you can’t buy anywhere else. The Cooking School, meanwhile, offers hands-on 45-minute sessions for up to 40 guests alongside the likes of Brendan Pang and Kirsten Tibballs. Elsewhere, the Wine Selectors Tasting Rooms, a Riedel glass masterclass and a cheese, caviar and champagne pairing round out the weekend nicely. Basically, it’s a foodie’s paradise.

Four Pillars Martini Collective
Sydney’s first drink of the night has gone wonderfully snack-sized. For one month only, the Four Pillars Martini Collective pairs mini Olive Leaf Gin Martinis with bespoke bites across some of the city’s sharpest dining rooms, wine bars and oyster-counter moods. Think raw tuna with finger lime, prawn panzerotto, caviar tart, natural oysters and briny little Gildas built for that cold, clean first sip. Leichhardt is throwing its first ever street festival next month and it looks like exactly the kind of weekend you clear your calendar for. Taste the Music takes over Norton and Marion Streets on June 19 and 20th, with the suburb’s best Italian venues, live music, roving performers and enough aperitivo to make you feel like you’re somewhere on the Amalfi Coast. Think $7 Aperol spritzes, fresh pasta being made by someone’s actual nonna, $10 hot brownies from Lunetta Gelato and jazz musicians doing their thing. Entry is free and the vibes are very much Little Italy (if you missed out on a Euro summer this year).

The Hunter Valley Is Coming to Vaucluse for One Night
Hunter Valley favourite Margan Wines and Restaurant is heading to Sydney’s east for one night only, joining forces with The Botanica Vaucluse for an intimate four-course wine dinner on Saturday 20 June. The menu, designed by co-head chefs Abby James (ex-Quay) and Thai Sams (ex-Bentley), moves through bluefin tuna sashimi crostino, dry-aged duck with blueberry and black tea, and a Pink Lady apple dessert paired with Dassai sake; all matched with wines straight from Margan’s Hunter Valley estate. Tickets are $169 per person inclusive of matching wines, and given The Botanica’s garden-framed dining room and the calibre of the kitchen, that’s a very reasonable ask.

Brooki’s Cookie Truck Has Pulled Into Vivid
Brooki Bakehouse is parking up at Sydney Harbour for Vivid, serving hot cookies from a late-night truck with the Harbour Bridge light displays as your backdrop. Make a Date With the Archibald Prize Before August
If you only make it to one exhibition this year, make it the Archibald. Australia’s most anticipated annual art event is back at the Art Gallery of NSW until 16 August, and it never gets old. This year’s show brings together the full trio — the Archibald Prize for portraiture, the Wynne Prize for landscape painting and figurative sculpture, and the Sulman Prize for subject and genre painting.
Sitchu Tip: Midweek visitors get 2-for-1 tickets on Wednesday nights from 5pm to 10pm. From $30 for adults.
One ticket covers all three, and the sheer range of what Australian and New Zealand artists are doing with portraiture right now is worth the trip alone. Come One, Come All: The Greatest Show Is Here
If you’ve ever watched The Greatest Showman and thought “I wish this was real”, we’ve got good news. Come Alive! Christmas in July Is Back at The Rocks
The most magical ten nights of Sydney’s winter are back and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Christmas in July Festival returns to The Rocks from 10 to 19 July, transforming the historic precinct into a glowing European-style Christmas village complete with snowfall, kilometres of fairy lights, mulled wine bars, fondue, melted raclette and over 30 artisan market stalls that are tucked inside wooden chalets lining the sandstone laneways. We’re especially excited for the firepit cinema which will show screenings of all the Christmas classics, from Home Alone to Love Actually.

Clear your Thursday nights until September. Jazz Sessions in The Rocks is back for its third year! Returning to The Rocks Square every Thursday from 7th May through to 24th September with a lineup of Australia’s most exciting contemporary jazz artists, curated in partnership with SIMA. It’s free, it’s open air, and it’s set against one of Sydney’s most beautiful backdrops, with cobblestone laneways, historic sandstone and harbour air included.
There’s no tickets or bookings required, just show up. Pisa Slice will be on hand with a $10 pizza and soft drink combo, and the pop-up bar is pouring espresso martinis, spicy mango margaritas and mulled wine.

Sydney Fish Market is doing a lot more than prawns right now. Seascapes is a free live performance program running at the waterfront until October 2026, bringing 14 artist commissions spanning printmaking, sound installations, workshops and immersive experiences, all inspired by the sea, the market and the harbour. Highlights include a gyotaku fish printing session with chef Ben Devlin on 7 June, a foghorn trumpet orchestra on 21 June, an oyster shucking workshop in August where you make your own shucker handle before eating the goods, and a waterfront vocal performance in October.

Bonjour, Sydney! Your favourite winter tradition is coming back. Bastille Festival returns to Circular Quay and The Rocks from July 17-20th, bringing four days of French food, wine, music and culture to the harbour’s edge. Jazz Sessions in The Rocks is back every Thursday until September — free, open air and set against Sydney’s most atmospheric backdrop. Seascapes at Sydney Fish Market offers free artist commissions, workshops and performances running until October.
Bastille Festival returns to Circular Quay and The Rocks from 17–20 July, with four days of French food, wine, live music and over 110 free performances. The NSW Wine Winter Cellar Door takes over the Carriageworks Blacksmith Workshop in Eveleigh on Sunday 5 July, with 20-plus producers pouring drops from across the state. The Margan Wines dinner at The Botanica Vaucluse is also coming up on 20 June — a four-course wine dinner from $169 per person that’s worth booking now.
