lululemon Is Opening Two Sydney Runner Hubs For Race Week

Shakeout runs, a Friday-night music-and-mindset session and two pop-up activations are landing across Sydney at the end of August, as the city slips into full running mode.

In partnership with lululemon, we’ve got the details on what’s happening around Sydney before race day.

Sydney is about to develop a very specific form of race-week brain. By the final week of August, perfectly normal conversations will have been replaced by splits, gels, carb-loading strategies and someone casually mentioning they’re “just keeping the legs moving”. Months of training are behind them, so naturally, attention has turned to the truly pressing matters: the playlist, the nerves and what everyone’s wearing.

lululemon is joining the pre-race fever with two activations across Sydney, shakeout runs, music programming and a Friday-night music and mindset session, essentially taking care of the hours when nobody should be adding any more kilometres.

Start at the Print Shop

First stop is the Print Shop at Pitt Street Mall, opening from Wednesday 26 August. Runners can pick up their lululemon race-day kit from either CBD store, choose from limited Sydney 2026 designs, then have their selection printed on the spot.

The Print Shop stays open through Sunday, catching runners at the exact point where months of sensible preparation give way to unexpectedly serious outfit decisions. The training is done. The playlist is locked. Now the finish-line photo deserves some attention too.

When: Wednesday 26 to Sunday 30 August
Where: Pitt Street Mall
What: Limited Sydney 2026 designs and on-the-spot race-kit printing
Need to know: Purchase your lululemon race-day kit before choosing a design to have printed while you wait.

Tune In at the Record Shop

Then Friday shifts east, as Prim Haus in Darlinghurst becomes the Record Shop from 28 to 30 August, the home of music, mindset and your running mantra.

By this point in your race week preparation, advice is coming from every direction and your brain has probably started running the course before you have. The legs are trained; now it’s mostly a matter of getting your head to the start line without mentally completing 42.2 kilometres first.

Back inside, the Record Shop turns to the part of race week Strava can’t measure. Drop in to lay down your running mantra, create a custom record sleeve keepsake or settle in over coffee with your crew while some of Sydney’s finest DJs take over the lululemon soundsystem all weekend. It’s a chance to get out of your head, enjoy the build-up and mark everything that went into getting here before Sunday morning arrives.

When: Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August
Where: Prim Haus, 121 Riley Street, Darlinghurst
What: Exclusive programming moments, custom record sleeves and coffee with your run crew.
Best for: Runners seeking to tune out the noise and tune into their race journey.

Shakeout the Legs

Proceedings begin at the deeply committed hours of 8:00am and 11:00am on Saturday 29 August with two Shakeout runs led by lululemon Ambassador Katie Martin. This is not the morning for hero kilometres. The work is done, the taper is sacred and the brief is simple: move the legs, keep it easy and save the big effort for Sunday.

All paces are welcome, with runners setting off from the Record Shop before looping back for a post-run set from Cosmo’s Midnight.

Join for one last easy outing, meet a few faces you’ll probably spot somewhere along the course the next morning, then regroup over coffee and pastries from AP Bakery. No run required, either. The race-week buzz tastes just as good from the sidelines.

When: Saturday 29 August at 8:00am and 11:00am
Where: Record Shop at Prim Haus, 121 Riley Street, Darlinghurst
Who: lululemon Ambassador Katie Martin and DJ set by Cosmo’s Midnight
Pace: All paces welcome
Need to Know: These are shakeout runs, not the morning to discover a surprise PB hiding in the legs. Spaces are limited. Sign up HERE to reserve your spot.

Set Your Record

Music has its own lane at the Record Shop. Across the weekend, some of Sydney’s finest DJs will take over the lululemon soundsystem, with Friday evening handing the controls to music curator Derrick Gee and lululemon Ambassador Ryan Mannix for a dedicated 60-minute hosted session. Together, they’ll explore how music and mindset can shape a race, from the way sound sets your pace to the way breath holds your focus, carrying you from those nervous opening kilometres all the way to the finish.

When: Friday 28 August, 5pm
Where: The Record Shop at Prim Haus, 121 Riley Street, Darlinghurst
Who: Derrick Gee and lululemon ambassador Ryan Mannix
Need to know: Discover how sound sets your pace and breath holds your focus from the starting line to the finish. Spaces are limited. Sign up HERE to reserve your spot.

By Saturday night, the kilometres are banked. The kit is sorted. The playlist is locked. There is nothing left to do but sleep. Well, attempt to. Sunday is race day.
