A Giant Foodie Playground Is Taking Over Carriageworks

More than 180 producers are taking over Carriageworks this August, and you could make a pretty solid day of it without leaving the building. The Little Food Market is bringing cool-climate wines from Orange, the Barossa and McLaren Vale, artisan cheeses from Second Mouse and Vannella, plus a Feast precinct loaded with woodfired pizza from Lucio Pizzeria, souvlaki from Olympic Meats and onigiri from Mogu Mogu. There’s also Christopher Thé unveiling his Strawberry Watermelon Cake 2.0, with complimentary tastings at every session.

Sitchu Tip: Wear something with an elastic waistband and bring a big tote; between the tasting, grazing and shopping, you’ll want both!

Plate It Forward Is Throwing a Laneway Party

One million meals is a pretty big reason to throw a party. Plate It Forward is celebrating the milestone with a giant laneway feast in Chippendale, bringing together some of Sydney’s best chefs for an afternoon of very good food, cold Young Henrys and music. Mitch Orr, Darryl Martin of Watermans, Brendan King of Derrel’s, NipCooks, Serwan Roman and Andrew Vu of Roman’s Deli will all be getting behind the BBQ, alongside the women of Kabul Social. Come hungry, stay for the good vibes and raise a glass to the next million meals.

Visit The Bondi Bake Sale Everyone’s Talking About

Bondi just got a little sweeter, with Coco & Bean launching weekend bake sales that are already drawing a crowd. The star of the show? Soft, oversized cinnamon scrolls that are baked fresh in-store and absolutely loaded with flavour, think classic, pistachio, Biscoff and a standout blueberry that’s worth the trip alone. Alongside the scrolls, expect fresh cookies, matcha and cold brew, making this the perfect excuse for a laid-back weekend sugar hit by the beach. Catch it from Friday to Sunday while it’s running.

The Gin and Jazz Event We’re Adding to the Diary

Potts Point favourite The Apollo is giving the people what they want with the return of its beloved Gin & Jazz series. Taking over the dining room on the last Sunday of every month from March to September, this long lunch pairs live sets with flowing cocktails from Four Pillars Gin and the restaurant’s signature Greek feast. Settle in for the set menu or dive into the à la carte and banquet options, depending on your appetite. As history has shown, this will be a buzzy affair that will see you ending the weekend on a high note!

Felons Barrel Room Has Officially Opened

Felons Brewing Co. has unveiled its brand-new Barrel Room and on-site microbrewery at Manly Wharf and there’s a full weekly program already. Wednesday night is trivia, Thursday is jazz club from 7pm, Fridays and Saturdays have live music and Sundays are all about families. On the F&B side, guests can enjoy a range of Felons’ barrel-aged beers alongside vibrant Vietnamese dishes by chef Bao La.

This 700-person venue built for music, culture and fresh-from-the-tank pours feels like an exciting new chapter for food and entertainment on the Northern Beaches.

If you’ve ever watched The Greatest Showman and thought “I wish this was real”, we’ve got good news. Come Alive!
