Sydney might be known for its strong coffee culture, but lately, it’s the extras stealing the spotlight. Cafes and bars across the city are leaning into playful, flavour-packed drinks that blur the line between beverage and experience; think layered matchas, nostalgic dessert flavours and cocktails that sound a little crazy but really work.
Whether it’s a morning order that’s become a full personality or a late-night pour that has people sending each other voice notes about it, Sydney’s drink scene is having a serious moment right now. If you’re bored of your usual order or looking for something worth going out of your way for, these are the viral drinks lighting up the city and exactly where to find them.

Hey Jude Cocktail from Jude’s Basement Bar
At this brand new bar in Potts Point, someone asked the question we didn’t know we needed answered: what if a lychee martini and a spicy margarita became one? The result is the Hey Jude, the venue’s signature cocktail that blends Belvedere vodka, lychee, lemon and chilli. It’s refreshing yet zingy, luring you in with a little sweetness upfront before introducing a slow heat that sneaks up on you. Easy to drink and incredibly moreish, we’ll definitely be back for another round… or maybe two.
15 Bayswater Rd, Potts Point NSW 2011

Cookie Butter Latte from Glory Days Bondi
This is one of those orders that people keep coming back for. Made with house cookie butter syrup, espresso and your choice of milk, this tasty little creation from Glory Days is topped with a thick layer of brown sugar cold foam that makes it feel more like a treat than your usual coffee. Sweet, smooth and lightly spiced, it’s an easy favourite, especially with a Biscoff biscuit on top.

Cola Spider Margarita from Tio’s
Tio’s monthly special has just shot right to the top of our must-try list. Equal parts booze and nostalgia, this little tipple has been inspired by the childhood cola spider, blending cola and vanilla and topped with a scoop of house-made vanilla ice cream. This one looks so fun and refreshing that we’re declaring it a must-try immediately.

Strawberries & Cream Piña Colada from El Vista
If summer had a flavour, this could well be it. El Vista’s Strawberries & Cream Piña Colada is a frozen, blush-pink dream blending Bacardi Carta Blanca rum with pineapple, strawberry, cream and a squeeze of lime for that perfect sweet yet tropical taste. It’s refreshing, it’s fun to look at and it’s made for a sunshine session while soaking in the bar’s enviable harbour views.

Ragno from Bar Allora
Made with lemon cream, cherry-flavoured liqueur and lemonade, this is essentially a grown-up take on an ice cream spider. It’s smooth, creamy and dangerously easy to drink. Once mixed together, it barely tastes alcoholic, which explains why it’s quietly become a crowd favourite. This is a must-try for summer!
And, Cnr George St, Bond St, Sydney NSW 2000

Tropical Supply from Common Supply
Bondi’s answer to Erewhon has pulled through on this one. The Tropical Supply smoothie from Common Supply is packed with mango, banana and pineapple, plus coconut kefir, cashew butter and coconut water. It’s creamy and blissfully refreshing, with collagen and maca giving it that extra wellness edge.
