Is it just me? Or does it feel like every second person you speak to is heading to Greece for Euro Summer? The beaches. The wine. The food! Greece’s attention feels well and truly earned.

But for those not making the trip, Perth’s own Greek heritage (Greek migrants have been coming to Perth since the late 19th century) brings with it some stunning Greek dining destinations — places where honey-soaked saganaki, warm pita bread, herby salads and melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked lamb are all waiting to be shared.

Ready to dive in? Read on for our favourite Greek restaurants and bars in Perth.

Ode to Sirens

Ode to Sirens blends sultry 70s decor, old school records and some of Perth’s best Greek eats. It’s a place where vinyl spins and drinks flow — natty wines, tap beers, craft cans, and playful cocktails all make an appearance. And the Greek-centric menu, complete with pita and dips, pairs perfectly with the sun-soaked, orange-walled courtyard. It’s smooth, it’s laid-back, and it’s as effortlessly cool as the crowd that’s always there, grooving to the sounds and enjoying every sip and bite. This is the kind of place you just want to sink into.

Farra

Located inside the new HYDE Hotel, FARRA shifts with the day across its restaurant, poolside bar and rooftop terrace, each beautifully designed and primed for good times. The menu meets you at each step, with a selection of hot and cold meze designed for sharing and building upon as your visit progresses.

Start with the essentials: warm house-baked bread paired with tzatziki, Santorini fava and taramasalata. Then make way for comfort plates like flame-kissed lamb tomahawk finished with tyrokafteri (a spicy feta and roast pepper dip), dumplings folded with Greek cheese, zucchini blossom and nigella seed, and kalamaria yemista (stuffed squid) filled with sujuk and taro skordalia. A large slow-roasted lamb shoulder served on the bone is there for those keen to linger over something more substantial.

Lady Of Ro

Lady Of Ro

Located within the leafy streets of Subiaco, Lady Of Ro feels like one of Perth’s best kept secrets. The premise is pretty simple: delicious Greek eats, a relaxed yet quietly sophisticated atmosphere, and the ability to BYO drinks. The best way to experience it all is via Yia Yia’s Table Menu — an $85pp share-style set menu brimming with Greek hits, from saganaki and charred octopus to slow cooked lamb, charcoal chicken, vine leaves and more, with complimentary corkage thrown in to sweeten the deal. Whatever you do, just know the soufra should be non-negotiable.

Sitchu Tip: Lady of Ro are also behind one of our favourite Greek-leaning cafes, Boucla.
