Moody, dimly-lit and made for aperitivo hour and beyond, the stylish new osteria revolves around damn good snacks (think mortadella skewers, Shark Bay prawn sandwiches and veal carpaccio), silky handmade pasta and a solid, largely Italian wine list, featuring top drops from Il Lido’s award-winning cellar.

Lulu La Delizia
If you’re craving an insanely good bowl of pasta, look no further than Lulu La Delizia. Specialising in premium fresh pasta and immaculate wine, Chef Joel Valvasori and the team at this Italian hotspot are determined to bring the focus back to the pasta itself, rather than solely the sauce. Safe to say, they’ve nailed it. Anything you order will be good. Our preference is to go the banquet and let the kitchen drop an endless cascade of pasta surprises at your table. Just make sure you save room for tiramisu, it’s up there with the best in Perth.

Capri
A true heritage gem, Capri has been trading in the heart of Fremantle since the 50s. Its complimentary soup and bread, authentic Italian food and warm family hospitality, key to the restaurant’s enduring charm. Seven decades on and four generations of Pizzales later, the lively restaurant remains booked and busy, with many of its original dishes still on the menu, from spaghetti alla bolognese to cottaletta and scallopini. That’s not to say things aren’t changing here, though. The restaurant has just become licensed, bringing a small but interesting blend of Italian and West Australian wines to your already delicious table.

Menu items change regularly along with in-season vegetables and produce, but you’re bound for a delicious feed no matter what’s on offer. A word of warning: this is not your Nonna’s Italian; the menu might feel a little daunting. Ask the staff if you’re lost and trust it’ll be good.

Located within the immersive QT Perth hotel, Santini has cemented its status as one of Perth’s best Italian restaurants. The restaurant is known for its bold cinematic interiors and premium modern Italian grill menu, making it perfect for date nights and special occasions. Start with woodfired Shark Bay scallops topped with lemon pangrattato before moving on to their iconic squid ink risotto, a luscious handmade pasta or something of the grilled persuasion. And for your dining finale? A scoop of their famous tiramisu served right at your table is a must.

This neighbourhood wine bar and cucina is friendly, welcome, and serving up some of the best Italian in Perth. La Madonna Nera is the perfect place for aperitivo, dinner, or a post-meal wine in a vibrant setting. We recommend digging into the tagliatelle with king oyster, chestnut & shiitake mushrooms after selecting a few shared smaller plates, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Loved by locals, you’ll find a mix of modern and traditional Italian fare at this gorgeous, intimate restaurant.
Start off with their Focaccia al Rosmarino, a delicious rosemary and garlic focaccia that you’ll need to force yourself from ordering an extra three plates – because they’re more incredible food to come. With pasta and risotto aplenty, you’ll be rolling out the door.

The perfect spot to gather with a big bunch of friends, or for a more intimate dinner date, this has got to be one of the best value ‘feed me’ menus in Perth, and it’s guaranteed to leave you utterly content.

This stunning space is the home of Willing Coffee by day, transforming into a chic and elegant wine bar by night. Trust us when we tell you to order the house made Italian chickpea flatbread. One of our favourite spots for best Italian in Perth, every time.

Entering Tommasino’s is akin to stepping into Rome. Dishing out authentic Roman cuisine in the heart of Mt Lawley, this Italian restaurant specialises in Pinsa, a ‘cloud-like’ pizza that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Pinsa is lighter than traditional pizza, meaning you can enjoy more of it without getting full as quickly. And while Tommasino’s is known for their authentic Roman pinsa, the strangozzi cacio e pepe is also a must. Served out of a giant parmesan cheese wheel right at your table, it’s as theatrical as it is delicious.

Spritz Spizzicheria
Celebrating the joy of the quintessential Italian cocktail, the Aperol Spritz, this bubbly Mount Hawthorn restaurant has an extensive menu, excellent cocktails, and atmosphere to boot. The food is authentic at Spritz Spizzicheria (think generous antipasto plates, delicious pasta, pizza and cocktails) and on the more affordable side, and while you can’t book online, walk-ins are always welcomed. It’s no wonder this place is always buzzing.
