The Luxe New Hotel Perth Creatives Are Booking

Perth has a cool new boutique stay worth checking into.

Known globally for its immersive, culture-first DNA, HYDE Perth officially opened its doors on Pier Street this March, ushering in a stylish new era of staycays in Perth’s CBD.

The entire building has been stripped back and reconstructed. Transforming the late-1960s property into something entirely new. From its use of Australian-led materials and coastal-inspired colour palette to the immersive sensory design and thoughtful balance of Australian contemporary art, the entire property has been curated down to the last detail.

Those luxe little details all start to add up across 121 rooms and suites. Bespoke furnishings, handcrafted Pampa rugs, ceramics by Robert Gordon, and custom textiles by Jimmy Pike, Patricia Braune and Grace Garrett bring a lived-in sophistication to each space. Added comfort can be found in premium bathrobes, Dyson hair dryers, and rainfall showers stocked with Bumble & Bumble hair products. While, Bose speakers, Chromecasts and Lavazza coffee machines provide ease in how each day flows.

Outside your room, a sun-soaked pool deck and terrace invites relaxed afternoons, while wellness studios and event spaces bring breathwork, movement, and the kind of social gatherings that feel organic (and genuinely welcomed).

At the heart of it all awaits FARRA, a Grecian-inspired dining concept that layers WA produce with a coastal European sensibility. Designed to flow across three distinct spaces (from restaurant to poolside to terrace), it’s one of those spots where you arrive for lunch and somehow stay past golden hour.

The menu is built around hot and cold meze, designed for sharing and building upon as your meal progresses.

Start with the essentials: warm house-baked bread with a trio of dips (tzatziki finished with pickled cucumber and mint, Santorini fava with sundried tomato, capers and bush tomato, and taramasalata enriched with fig leaf oil and smoked trout roe).

Then make way for comfort plates like flame-kissed lamb tomahawk finished with tyrokafteri (a spicy feta and roast pepper dip), dumplings folded with mizithra (a Greek cheese similar to ricotta) zucchini blossom and nigella seed, and kalamaria yemista (stuffed squid) filled with sujuk and taro skordalia. A large slow-roasted lamb shoulder served on the bone is there for those keen to linger over something more substantial.

HYDE Perth is the creative stay Perth’s been missing. And with the long weekend here and rooms still available, we can’t think of a better time to lock in a staycay.
