With its fabulous hospitality, central location and focus on quality ingredients, Margaret River’s brand new Italian restaurant, Sons of Naples, has quickly found its place as a favourite among locals and visitors. The dining space is welcoming and unfussy, and coupled with the attentive service (the owners are indeed from Naples) and fabulous menu (from homemade pasta dishes bursting with flavour to some incredible pizzas), there's something to satisfy everyone. Don’t leave without trying the tiramisu - it’s one of the best we’ve ever had.

Normal Van Main Street

Next time you find yourself in Margaret River with a hankering for some epic North American eats, head directly to Normal Van. Originally a food truck serving up the goods, these guys have recently secured themselves a permanent space on the main strip with plenty of seating indoors and out, so you’ll always know where to find them. On the drool-worthy menu you’ll find all the usual suspects, like burgers and fried chicken, as well as some deliciously unexpected treats, like lasagne and red velvet soft serve. There’s also wine and beer, alongside some epic cocktails.

This is our favourite restaurant in the Margaret River Region right now. A relatively new addition to Margaret River’s fine dining scene, Frui Momento has quickly made a name for itself in this foodie town. The restaurant was recognised as the 2023 New Restaurant of the Year, catapulting itself to the top of many food aficionado’s must-try lists, and rightfully so. 

This is the spot for a truly special long lunch or fancy dinner - the shady verandah and lawn are the perfect place to be on a warm summer’s afternoon, and the dining room is equal parts laid back and sophisticated - with more elegance, style, stunning views and incredible food than you could shake a cocktail at.

Cullen Winery

With a rich history dating back more than fifty years, this family-owned estate has become synonymous with crafting wines of exceptional quality that reflect the uniqueness of the Margaret River region. Committed to organic and biodynamic practices since 2005, Cullen Wines harmoniously balances tradition with innovation, producing wines that capture the essence of the land with minimal intervention. 

Cullen Wines was the first winery in Wilyabrup to offer visitors a taste of local fare with their wines, when you could find simple cheese platters, pastries and soups on the menu. Today, the food is as glamorous and delicious as you’d expect from a winery as prestigious as this one.

At Glenarty Road, an element of trust is required when ordering the set-course feasts. Here’s the thing, you won’t know what you’re getting until it appears on the table in all its rustic glory. This is the very definition of farm-to-table dining, with almost every dish foraged or sourced from the 83-hectare farm, which features vineyards, vegetable gardens, orchards and livestock. If there’s one guarantee though, you’ll have never tasted anything quite like it since everything is sustainable, seasonal, harvested daily and unique to this farmhouse kitchen. Take it a step further, by experiencing your own food and wine foraging adventure on-site, then indulging in the spoils afterwards. This is true Margaret River dining in a nutshell.

Yarri

Although located in the township of Dunsborough, you’re unmistakably in regional WA when dining at Yarri, particularly when lounging on the deck with a glass of local Snake + Herring wine, the surrounding forest as your scenery. The interiors are equally lush, a blend of local Yarri timber, limestone and layered textures of leather and terracotta. Chef Aaron Carr works closely with local producers to showcase the region, with dishes inspired by the six Indigenous seasons to pay homage to the traditional owners of the land.

Chow’s Table

What’s not to love about a restaurant nestled between a chocolatier and a winery? Especially when it’s one of the few Asian eateries in the region and overlooks cascading vineyards from the architecturally-designed dining room. Chow’s Table is no red-lantern affair, instead serving up a deliciously contemporary Chinese-Malay sharing menu. Highlights include Albany Akoya with white miso butter, Shark Bay tiger prawn curry laksa, and pork and chive dumplings washed down with local beers and wines, including the likes of neighbouring House of Cards winery.

Voyager Estate

Famed for its Cape Dutch architecture and Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines, Voyager Estate began merely as a vision for farmer/regional pioneer Michael Wright in the late 1970s. Today, sustainability is at the heart of this iconic family-run estate, that also happens to boast one of the finest restaurants in the state. A reflection of the Mediterranean climate and ingredients in tune with the seasons, settle in for the long haul with their seven-course Discovery degustation menu, or try the four-course Terrior menu - each dish paired with Voyager Estate wines, of course! Set in the Yallingup Hills, this family-run brewpub overlooks a picturesque dam, Gunyulgup Valley and endless rolling vineyards from the expansive deck and industrial chic dining room. Furry friends are welcome too.

Meelup Farmhouse

Just metres from Meelup Beach, Meelup Farmhouse is a predominantly outdoor venue that's home to alpacas, Silkie chickens, a hairy cow and a farmhouse dog. Luxuriate beneath the gum trees over a picnic hamper or indulge in the seasonal menu crafted by head chef Dean Williams. Orange and poppy seed pancakes and wood-roasted mushrooms with charred Yallingup woodfired sourdough feature on the brunch menu. Farmhouse grazing is encouraged all day, and the more substantial mains include housemade sweet potato flatbread with roasted vegetables and aromatic duck curry with black rice.
