Where to Find the Best Breakfast in Perth
Inconspicuously nestled on many a suburban corner, city laneway or waterside locale, there is an abundance of tasty cafes to delve into for the best breakfast in Perth.
In our relentless pursuit of Perth’s finest breakfast, from the leafy streets of Subiaco to the salty air of Fremantle, we stumbled upon a bold realisation — this city might just be the cafe capital of the nation. A reckless claim? Perhaps. But we were far too busy devouring runny-yolk perfection and buttery pastries to debate it.
From golden, eggy classics to impossibly flaky baked goods, Perth’s breakfast scene doesn’t just wake you up — it pulls you in, takes you by the hand, and leads you somewhere unexpected. Even the flavours of our Asian neighbours have found their way onto the morning table, proving that the best breakfasts in Perth aren’t just eaten; they’re experienced.
The Cool Room Cafe
The Cool Room Cafe’s minimal menu is simplicity perfected and bursting with local pride, with seasonal ingredients and local suppliers of the day displayed proudly on a large chalkboard inside. Menu highlights include smoked ham hock with potato rosti, fried egg and HP sauce; house granola with sheep’s yoghurt and poached rhubarb; and a Scandi-style breakfast plate featuring a sesame seed-topped sourdough bun, soft-boiled eggs, sour blueberry compote and thin slices of local cheese.

Corner 33
Corner 33 is South Perth’s new brunch darling, fusing Japanese influence and American diner comforts. With an ex-Nobu chef in the kitchen, the lines out the door seem warranted. Standout items include buttermilk pancakes with soy maple honey syrup, whipped ricotta and seasonal berry compote, and a panko-crusted fish burger served in a soft milk bun with cheese and tartare sauce (available after 9am). On the drinks side of things, you’ll find loads of trending styles, from mont blancs to matcha cold foam clouds, with high-grade matcha sourced directly from Japan.

Kith Eatery
Kith Eatery in Nedlands nails it with every sip and bite. The tropical iced matcha is a liquid holiday, blending mango, passionfruit, and matcha into a refreshing masterpiece. For a sweeter touch, the strawberry iced matcha offers a tangy-sweet moment of joy. Pair these with halloumi and zucchini fritters, avocado toast with goat’s curd and heirloom tomatoes, or one decadent vanilla pancake stack topped with maple and miso mascarpone and fresh cherries.
After 10:00 am, dive into a hot honey chicken sandwich or the gin-cured salmon plate. All in all, it’s breakfast with a serious attitude, influenced by the owners’ Malaysian and Sicilian roots. And the pastries from Teeter Bakery? Simply the best.
