Lock in a table at Melbourne’s finest this Father's Day – where Dad swaps the barbecue tongs for a feast fit for a king (plus a few surprises off the plate).

Piccolina

Father’s Day is on the horizon, and this year Dad deserves more than novelty socks and a lukewarm pint. Melbourne’s restaurants, watering holes and adventure spots are stepping up with feasts, fun, and a few surprises that might just earn you favourite-child status.

From prime steaks and just-shucked oysters to pub feed classics done properly, plus workshops, riverside escapes and a cheeky round of mini golf, we’ve scouted the city’s best ways to keep Dad fed, entertained and boasting about it for weeks.

Because Father’s Day 2025 should be less about socks and more about stories worth retelling.

Father’s Day Lunch or Dinner in Melbourne

Father’s Day by the Bay at Stokehouse Precinct

This Father’s Day, skip the socks and ties and celebrate Dad with a long lunch by the bay. The Stokehouse Precinct has crafted two exclusive menus that balance indulgence with atmosphere – whether you’re after refined elegance upstairs or a more relaxed Mediterranean feast downstairs.

At Stokehouse, Executive Chef Jason Staudt presents a $195pp four-course banquet of scallop & caviar, crumbed rock flathead, and a whole roast duck carved at the table, finishing with quince baba and Lazlo’s honey ice cream (with the option of a rum splash, naturally). Premium supplements like Southern rock lobster or wagyu short rib are also on offer.

At Stokehouse Pasta & Bar, a $100pp four-course menu leans Mediterranean with tuna crudo, fusilli duck ragù, and Father’s Day roast beef with rosemary potatoes, finishing on a decadent chocolate tart. Optional oysters, wagyu bresaola, and manchego with fig jam are available for those who want to go all in.

Both venues will offer children’s menus, and bookings are essential.
