Lock in a table at Melbourne’s finest this Father's Day – where Dad swaps the barbecue tongs for a feast fit for a king (plus a few surprises off the plate).

Piccolina

Father’s Day is on the horizon, and this year Dad deserves more than novelty socks and a lukewarm pint. Melbourne’s restaurants, watering holes and adventure spots are stepping up with feasts, fun, and a few surprises that might just earn you favourite-child status.

From prime steaks and just-shucked oysters to pub feed classics done properly, plus workshops, riverside escapes and a cheeky round of mini golf, we’ve scouted the city’s best ways to keep Dad fed, entertained and boasting about it for weeks.

Because Father’s Day 2025 should be less about socks and more about stories worth retelling.

Add freshly shucked oysters, schnitty with kohlrabi slaw, or a Sunday roast, and you’ve got the makings of a true pub feast.

Father’s Day Done Right: Beer, Beats & Hearty Feasts at From Here by Mike

This Father’s Day, give Dad what he really wants — bottomless craft brews, a table groaning with flavour, and no dishes to clean up afterwards. From Here by Mike at 1 Hotel Melbourne is stepping up with a Sunday celebration that’s equal parts indulgence and ease.

Dad’s first gift? Endless pours of Bright Brewery beer — a crisp High Country favourite brewed with the same love and integrity that Mike McEnearney brings to the kitchen. Then comes the main act: meat specials designed for the day, sourced seasonally, cooked with finesse, and served alongside all the warmth and generosity this nature-led restaurant is known for.

But it’s not all forks and froths. From 1pm, DJs take over the decks, lawn games roll out on the green, and the riverside setting does the rest — laidback, sun-dappled, effortlessly stylish.

This is Father’s Day dialled up: beer in hand, plate piled high, music drifting on the breeze, and Dad right where he belongs — at the centre of it all.

Premium supplements like Southern rock lobster or wagyu short rib are also on offer.

At Stokehouse Pasta & Bar, a $100pp four-course menu leans Mediterranean with tuna crudo, fusilli duck ragù, and Father’s Day roast beef with rosemary potatoes, finishing on a decadent chocolate tart. Optional oysters, wagyu bresaola, and manchego with fig jam are available for those who want to go all in.

Both venues will offer children’s menus, and bookings are essential.
