For the period drama lovers, an adaptation of Miles Franklin’s My Brilliant Career has coming-of-age covered, whilst those after only the most wholesome of viewing can pencil in season three of Colin From Accounts and season four of Ted Lasso.

My Brilliant Career
If you grew up on the rambunctious tales of Anne of Green Gables and Little Women, this delightful Australian period drama promises to be a lovely little sojourn for your soul. Based on the enduring classic of the same name, the story charts creative country girl Sybylla’s move from her rural home to her Grandmother’s estate for a spot of ‘straightening out’. A tale as old as time, it’s lovely to see the classic coming-of-age story play out against the backdrop of familiar and breathtaking Australian scenery for a change.

Let’s Marry Harry
Finished every spin-off of Love is Blind and still not satisfied? That’s where Let’s Marry Harry steps in. Promising a welcome light watch, this reality dating show is on a mission to find Harry Jowsey (Heartbreak Island, Too Hot to Handle, Perfect Match) his long-awaited partner in crime. With Alex Cooper (Call Her Daddy) on the tools, you can expect a good old giggle as you watch Harry meet 20 women, one of which might well be his one and only. Time will tell.

What’s New on Stan in August 2026
Sterling Point
God forbid we go more than a few weeks without a new series to fill the Off Campus, We Were Liars and The Summer I Turned Pretty void. Enter Sterling Point, a glossy Canadian-island drama involving a secret inheritance, a long-lost sister, a family conspiracy and, naturally, two boys staring meaningfully across the water.
Created by My Old Ass filmmaker Megan Park, with The O.C. and Gossip Girl architects Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage behind it, the eight-part series follows tightly wound Annie after her estranged grandfather leaves her an entire island. There, she finds grief, betrayal, first love and a romantic choice between the safe option and the one guaranteed to ruin her summer beautifully.

Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter
For anyone who watched Challengers and briefly made tennis their entire personality, Prime Video has found a respectable reason to relapse. Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter goes beyond the trophies to examine the ferocious ambition, controversies and contradictions behind one of sport’s most formidable figures. Directed by The Last Dance filmmaker Jason Hehir, the feature-length documentary follows Djokovic from his childhood in Serbia to the summit of men’s tennis, moving between major tournaments, punishing training sessions and quieter moments with his family. Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras and Boris Becker also weigh in.

Lioness: Season Three

Season three is just as action-packed as the two prior, and centres around the navigation of the personal and professional in a world full of secrets and threats.

Lanterns

Ted Lasso season four is the series we didn’t think we’d be getting, but we’re welcoming it with open arms. Shining a well-deserved light on women’s sport, Ted returns to our screens as coach of Richmond’s second division women’s football team. You can expect to meet a whole gang of new loveable favourites, alongside the warm-hug return of Keeley, Rebecca, Roy and Coach Beard. Haven’t watched the first three seasons? Time for a marathon.

The Shards
If you mixed a glorious 80s set and matching wardrobe with Gossip Girl, The Talented Mr Ripley and The Secret History by Donna Tartt, we’re confident The Shards would emerge as the finishing product. Directed by Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story) and based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho), it’s all glamour and guile with a side of mystery.
The storyline follows Bret, a student in his senior year at an elite prep school, and the furore that ensues with the coincidental arrival of a beguiling new student and a teenage-targeting serial killer that is stalking LA. Add in all the drama that comes along with teenage life, and you’ve got a rather compelling and deliciously addictive series on hand.
