Forget just one little slice of heaven – here are the best bakeries in Adelaide to get a whole loaf of heaven.

Rise Artisan Bakery

Known for providing sumptuous comfort whenever you need it, a good bakery will never let you down. A little blue? Have a donut. Busy? Pop down the road for a sausage roll. Having the best day of your life? Make it even better with a decadent vanilla slice.

If you’re a foodie, you’re probably all over Adelaide’s best restaurants, but might not have tracked down the city’s best baked goods with the same gusto. To help you find your local pastry paradise, here’s our list of Adelaide's best bakeries you really have to experience for yourself.

Any Given Sunday

Any Given Sunday

Retro minimalism is at play at this Cheltenham cafe, where the pastries refuse to play second fiddle to brunch. Step inside the light-filled corner store that is Any Given Sunday and prepare to have your fill - of Serbian-style pastries, expert coffee, and in keeping with the site's former life, an array of everyday essentials like eggs, nut butters, pancake mix, olive oil, cereal and milk.

The short and sweet menu features local coffee from White Horse Coffee, and pastries and pies from Skala Bakery.

There's bacon and egg brioche rolls, sautéed mushrooms and Swiss cheese toasties, croissants, BLT's, housemade iced tea and more.

Be sure to try their homemade gibanica – a buttery Serbian filo with cheese filling. It's only available on weekends, so be sure to come back for more. On any given Sunday, that is!
