A Hole Lot of Love for the Best Bagels in Adelaide
The humble bagel has had a glow up, with creative flavour combos turning this staple into a delicious (and filling) meal. Read on for the best bagels in Adelaide
First, it was toasties, then it was sandos. Now, the simple bagel is getting time to shine, with cafes around town putting their spin on the doughy delight. While you can certainly still take your bagel New York style - to go, with a generous schmear of cream cheese - we think our guide to the best bagels in Adelaide will have you exploring new territory with epic flavour combos and monthly specials.
From breakfast bagels to sweet PB&J spreads that are finger-licking good, a mid-week bite or weekend brunch treat has never looked so good!
Frankly Bagels
Frankly Bagels is at the top of the bagel game. One of our favourite spots for a bagel bite that always hits the spot, start by choosing your bagel – plain, poppy seed, sesame seed, or everything, then take your time to find your flavour combo, with nine choices plus rotating specials making this decision particularly difficult. If we had to choose just one (near impossible, truly) it would have to be the #9 with smoked pumpkin, feta, dukkah and rocket.
Did we mention they also do great coffees and gluten-free bagels? No one misses out at Frankly Bagels!

88 Magill Road, Norwood
The Flying Fig
Paying homage to the landmark Jewish delicatessens of NYC, it should come as no surprise that The Flying Fig's extensive menu includes top-notch bagels, along with Reuben sandwiches, of course. Most menu items are made fresh in-house, with the rest sourced from local South Australian suppliers for ultimate quality. The Green Delight bagel with avo, cucumber, feta and pesto is a must-try!

Beachside Bagels
Beach and bagels, is there a better combo? We think not, and clearly, neither do the Beachside Bagels team, who are slinging their loaded creations every weekend in Henley Square. There are 6 regular bagels to choose from, including a spectacular buttermilk fried chicken and sriracha cream cheese combo, but you'll want to check back regularly for special flavours.
Sitchu tip: Treat yourself to the Mont Blanc coffee. Originating in Melbourne, this drink is equal parts caffeine fix and sweet treat, made with black coffee, sugar syrup, fresh cream and topped with orange zest.

Holy Mother of Bagels
Supplying hole-sale to multiple locations across SA, you don't need to drive to the Holy Mother of Bagels's kitchen in Gumeracha to try these high-quality sourdough bagels. What makes these bagels so special? Each one is shaped by hand, fermented for 24 hours then boiled, dressed and baked resulting in a perfect bagel, every time. They make plain, sesame, everything, and poppyseed bagels; the cinnamon sugar bagel is a delicious treat for the sweet tooth!
Bagels can be purchased online or found on the menu at Heat Cafe, Cielo, Kitchen Farm Pantry and more.
17 Albery Street, Gumeracha
Barossa Bagels
Bringing more than 20 types of their perfected bagels (including a few gluten-free varieties) to the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market on Sundays, and the Barossa Farmers Market on Saturdays, Barossa Bagels always hit the spot. Crafted using South Australian ingredients, these bagels are fresh, wonderfully golden and have the perfect density. With fun creative flavours like Candy Cane over the Christmas period and a black activated charcoal bagel, you can keep it classic or mix it up at Barossa Bagels.
