Bourke Street Bakery

With locations all over Sydney, the popularity of this favourite isn't showing any signs of waning - and that's because they consistently deliver. Bourke Street Bakery's pies never miss with their pastry recipe that has been honed to perfection and fillings as equally delish.

Sitchu Pick: Whether you're a full-time vego or not, the vegan vege curry pie is something else.

Lode Pies

Lode Pies truly are masters of their craft. Their Instagram is a sight to behold with lamination and layers creating a visual feast. But for the best feast of all, you'll have to get your hands on one of their IRL pies.

Sitchu Pick: Their pithivier is on the pricier end but is worth every cent. It takes three days to make and features an incredible 'chimney' through which chicken sauce can be poured. Filled with free-range pork and shitake mushrooms, it's a flavour bomb if ever we've had one.

A.P Bakery

Arguably Sydney's favourite bakery, A.P prime residence is located atop Paramount House - the ideal location to partake in a baked goods moment. These guys have perfected every stage of the process from the growing of their very own grains to the milling and kneading. Their pies are top tier with a shifting and seasonal menu. The LP's smoked brisket pie, however, is a year-round staple.

Everything Black Star does turns to gold and their smoked beef and cheese pie is no exception. Naturally, the pastry is 10/10 and the flavours inside won't disappoint either. Expect smoked beef brisket, rich shiraz and a topping of raclette and provolone cheeses. Impeccable.

Nonna Tina's

Taking out award after award at Australia's Best Pie Competition, Nonna Tina's specialise in Italian pies and yes, that is a category all of its own. With flavours like beefy Bolognese. chicken boscaoila and chicken parmigiana, they're a combo of all the best things in the world. They haven't got a shop front but it's worth a trip to Bondi Markets or making a bulk order online.

Tokyo Lamington

Famed for their fluffy lamingtons, this petite store is hiding a secret - pies we're considering some of the best in Sydney. Crispy, flakey pastry with a Japanese twist - what's not to love? Plus, you can grab a lammo for dessert!

Sitchu Pick: The Japanese chicken curry pie is a no-brainer if you're a fan of katsu curry. Topped with panko crumbs, it's an amalgamation of two of our all-time favourite dishes.
