Keep Scrolling: Our Guide to the Top Swirly Treats
Sydney has gone completely scroll-obsessed, and we're not mad about it. From cult Bondi micro-bakeries with hour-long queues to weekend market finds that sell out by 10am, these are the spots making the city's best cinnamon scrolls right now.
It feels like our collective scroll obsession is at an all time high which explains why we’ve been eating so many. The best cinnamon scrolls in Sydney are no longer a lucky farmers market find, they’re available at bakeries and cafes and almost everywhere in-between. Naturally, with their level of deliciousness, they’re drawing major queues, selling out before lunch and even inspiring dedicated scroll-only bakeries that people will happily cross the city for.
Whether you’re a cream cheese loyalist or an experimental daredevil (hello coconut and pineapple), here’s where to get your fix of the best cinnamon scrolls in Sydney.
Sundays
This is the one you’ve likely seen all over Instagram and TikTok. Sundays is a tiny Bondi Road micro-bakery run by Laetitia Loefti, and it’s been pulling hour-long lines since the week it opened. Each batch of dough is cold-fermented overnight and given two more rises before baking, which is why these scrolls are so pillowy-light they almost bounce.
The classic cream cheese is the obvious entry point, but the rotating monthly specials like pistachio, cardamom and seasonal surprises is why regulars keep coming back. Go Thursday through Sunday before noon, or better yet, before 9am. They sell out fast!

Coco & Bean
A family-run Sydney institution since 2010, Coco & Bean has been quietly doing the scroll thing long before it was a whole thing. Their Bondi Beach store runs a Friday-to-Sunday bake sale setup that feels genuinely joyful, with cookies, cakes, and scrolls all jostling for counter space. Everything is made in small batches at their Austral bakery, and it shows.

Bobo Bakery
Bobo is the market stall you spot from across the crowd and immediately abandon your original plan for. Run out of a Kingsford kitchen by the very talented Rowan Atwell, Bobo’s brioche cinnamon buns are rich, soft-crumbed and generously swirled with rotating flavours that rotate weekly and never disappoint. Recent hits have included raspberry cheesecake, salty malt with burnt caramel, and even fairy bread.
Sitchu Tip: You can actually pre-order online for catering, which is probably the right move if you’re feeding a crowd and don’t want to fight anyone at the market.

Ard
Christiana Daaboul’s cult plant-based micro-bakery has graduated from market pop-ups to a proper Stanmore home in a former battery shop that she’s made very chic. Everything at Ard is 100% vegan and rooted in Christiana’s Lebanese heritage, which means the flavour combinations are genuinely unlike anything else in the city. The cinnamon scrolls are so gooey and soft and promise to leave that delicious cream cheese glaze all over your fingers. Maybe buy a couple when you get there, as you’ll definitely be thinking about a second before you’ve even finished the first.

Brooklyn Boy Bagels
Brooklyn Boy might be a bagel institution, but take our word and don’t sleep on their scrolls. Made from their signature challah dough rather than the usual brioche or yeasted base, these have a very different texture. They’re pillowy-soft, slightly sweet and so gooey in the middle that they barely hold their shape. A must-try.
Surry Hills & Marrickville
Oregano Bakery
Oregano has been doing scrolls since long before they were cool, and the South Hurstville faithful will tell you they haven’t needed to change a thing. These are big and generously iced, with lots of squishy layers in the middle to sink your teeth into. Classic cinnamon is the hero, but banoffee and pineapple coconut are strong backup options. It also supplies cafes all over Sydney, which tells you everything you need to know about the quality.
