Not all hair salons were created equally and Darlinghurst’s latest addition, Salon HER, is proof. Salon HER is the magnum opus of leading colour specialist and renowned industry educator, Michael Kelly’s two decades of experience, gleaned from salons all over the world. His extensive and impressive career has enabled him to gather one of the most talented teams in the city to tend hair alongside him, from master extensionists to expert colourists and stylists, forming the ranks.  

We quizzed Expert Colourist and Stylist Karl Dawson on our visit on what’s popular in the salon at present. He shared that healthy hair is on the rise with lived-in looks reigning supreme. Brunettes are also having a moment alongside bouncy blow dry’s, relaxed waves, layers, shape and curtain bangs.

Harnessing the essence of everyday luxury, Salon HER serves clients an elevated experience. Salon HER doesn’t do things in halves – their offering is bespoke whilst being transparent with all colour packages priced inclusively. Whether you only have time for some quick textured waves or are settling in for a much-needed colour correction session, you’ll be invited to kick back and soak it in.

Testament to HER’s boutique approach, you’ll find a service menu to delight. Specialising in full-blow transformation (weightless bob or face-framing highlights, anyone?), HER also promise to sort you out for those in-between times too with their Micro Mane Tame which will tidy up your wispy bits and split ends. The more extensive Mane Makeover even includes styling lessons for your new do, alongside a run-through of aftercare products. These guys are in it for the long haul and that’s why we love ‘em. And the aromatherapy-infused hot towel, we love them for that, too.
