$8 Mini Martinis, Beautiful Bar Snacks and Park Views: This Hotel Bar Is the Place to Be

Consider The Bar at Sydney Common - located inside the five-star Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park - the perfect spot to indulge in aperitivo hour.

Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park

We’ve partnered with Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park to share with you a first peek at The Bar at Sydney Common's brand-new aperitivo hour offering.

There is something about a hotel bar that emanates a level of luxury altogether separate from that of your regular haunt.

The extravagance of a martini with a view is not just reserved for guests, however, so we’re here to toast the rise of the hotel bar by sharing a few details on one of our favourites in the city - The Bar at Sydney Common.

For those who haven’t had the pleasure of getting acquainted, The Bar at Sydney Common is located within the five-star Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park, overlooking vibrant green parklands. The bar, taking pride of place under the glass atrium, is the perfect place to indulge in aperitivo hour.

Plus, Sydney’s mild winter and The Bar at Sydney Common’s savvy deals offer the ideal opportunity to lap up some luxury midweek.

A Decadent Drinks List

First things first, settle into your leather-backed bar stool and take a look through The Bar at Sydney Common’s impeccable new beverage list. The signature cocktail menu is a great place to start, with bar staff willing and waiting to guide you through your options.

The Sydney Common Negroni is a failsafe and features locally owned and made gin from Poor Toms. Topped with Campari and lemon-infused vermouth, it’s the perfect drink to sip as you unwind from the business of the day.

Fancy something fruitier? The Sunset Stride will kick your evening into gear with pineapple-infused Lomeca Blanco tequila, red wine syrup and lemon, garnished with dried pineapple.

Keen to offer options for everyone, the non-alcoholic options are equally as impressive with the likes of The Amalfi and other botanic-inspired libations just two available picks.

For a real steal, swing by during aperitivo hour (Tuesday to Friday between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm) and $8 mini martinis, $12 negronis and $6 wines, gin & tonics and Sydney Beer Co lagers are yours for the taking.

Beyond Bar Snacks

Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park

Whether you’re stopping in for a snack pre-dining room dinner or intend to soak up a few hours over bigger bites, Sydney Common’s bar menu is a joy to explore.

Designed to complement the luxurious beverage offering, the small plates highlight local producers and seasonal delights.

You’ll find plates of aged Sydney Rock Oysters dressed in finger lime and rice vinegar (our personal favourite accompaniment to a glass of crisp bubbles). Continue your night with roasted artichokes with parmesan custard, fried whitebait with Sichuan salt and prawn katsu sandwiches.

Then, it’s time to linger with mini martinis and a cured meats platter with Wagyu bresaola, saucisson, LP’s mortadella and a selection of Australian cheeses.

Once your tastebuds are well and truly warmed up, head over to the Sydney Common dining room for contemporary, ingredient-focused woodfire cooking. Enjoy the likes of Beef Cheek Orzo, Charred Eggplant or Woodfire Roasted Chicken from the à la carte menu, or get ready for a fire-inspired feast with the set Market Menu... all served against a backdrop of sweeping Hyde Park views, of course.

Soaking up the ambient atmosphere, we won’t blame you for making Sydney Common your new after-work go-to....and with mini martinis at $8 a pop? It’d be rude not to.

The Bar at Sydney Common is located within Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park.
