Payday Picks: What the Sitchu Team Are Shopping this Month

Spring is here, and by the looks of the frivolous finds sitting in our carts, we’re clearly all very ready to re-enter society. From holiday dressing and event-season sparkle to new-season staples and top-shelf beauty buys, we’ve rounded up what the Sitchu team is currently eyeing, buying and trying to justify this month.

This year I’ve swapped Euro summer for a little New York and Hamptons moment, so right now I’m building out my holiday wardrobe with a focus on minimalist pieces that can be mixed and matched—yet pieces that will work for me beyond just the holiday.

I’ve had my eye on this fun little Mister Zimi mini (although, TBH, I’m torn between the mini and maxi), while this Tohen dress is also a winner. I love that it can be worn multiple ways thanks to the gorg scarf that comes with it—and easily dressed up or down. The Harris Tapper Chamberlain top has been on my wishlist for far too long, so I’ve finally added to cart. I know I’ll wear it while I’m away with these Venroy Bermuda shorts, as well as all through summer and beyond—perfect for long days exploring but chic enough for gallery stops and afternoon spritzes. This HOLLI top has also been on my list for ages, and I’m adding it to the NYC rotation because why not. This little bag from Le Nodo with the red beading is a bit of fun and I feel will pair back perfectly with monochrome theme. I also wanted to upgrade my activewear looks, and PE Nation’s latest 10-year anniversary collection is giving me all the inspo I need. This coffee-and-white combo is it.

When it comes to the long-haul flight, I’ll be staying hydrated with my fave Augustinus Baugustinus Bader The Rich Cream. It’s definitely on the spendier side, but worth it IMO. I’ll also be stocking up on all the sheet masks —the Go-To Transformazing Masks are always a winner.

Spring’s new-ins have done my bank balance dirty. I’ve somehow ended up with carts full of beautiful new season finds, and while I am usually the kind of shopper who takes a lot of time to mull over each purchase, I am feeling particularly energised by the promise of some warm weather additions.

As soon as these new light sage tie pants from Aussie label Arcaa hit The Iconic, I immediately added them to my cart. Heading into spring, I am leaning into lighter, softer shades, and this colour feels just right. Plus, they’re considered enough for a wine bar jaunt with a pair of kitten heels and relaxed enough to wear with leather thongs and a white tee. So basically ticking every outfit occasion for the season ahead.

This crisp white ruffle blouse from New Zealand darling Ruby would also pair beautifully with said pants. All the little ruffle-seamed details are just adorable, and I know I’ll wear it on repeat. These ruffle-trimmed bermuda shorts from Aussie label Sister Studios are high on my to-buy list too, so clearly I’m leaning into whimsy this spring.

Then there’s this gorgeous blue midi from Bec + Bridge, with its custom floral denim print, fringed hem and textural detailing. She’s just so beautiful; I can’t stop thinking about her.

This wood and glass bead bag from Staud also has me sat. Chocolate brown with pops of butter yellow, sky blue and pale pink, it feels both ultra-wearable and interesting enough to spice up minimalist fits.

Finally, my glossy hair pursuits have me picking up a refill of Wella’s Luxe Oil. A bit of a splurge, but my hairdresser put me onto it as both a heat protector and frizz-taming finishing oil, and I’m loving it. It smells insane and leaves my blonde ends feeling particularly less crispy when heat styling.

I was looking through my wishlist and realised most of what I’ve been eyeing isn’t really for right now. It’s all slightly more planning ahead: pieces for warmer days, upcoming events, spring weekends and the things I already know are on the calendar.

The Maiken Tank from Australian label Henne is first on the list. It’s simple, fitted and exactly the kind of staple I know I’ll reach for again and again when the weather finally decides what it’s doing. Henne is also opening its first Adelaide boutique soon, so it feels like particularly good timing to get acquainted with the label.

I’ve also had my eye on the Raquel Set by Shona Joy. Matching sets have always been my favourite shortcut to looking like I’ve made an effort, and this one feels polished without being too precious. It’s currently on sale, which is really all the encouragement I need to justify adding another outfit to the spring rotation.

For a hens where the theme is Sex and the City, a sparkly pink skirt felt almost too obvious to ignore. The Camilo Skirt from Hand Over has the Carrie Bradshaw energy I’m after, without looking like I’ve wandered onto a costume set. It also happens to work for a concert I have coming up that basically requires sparkles, so suddenly the €69 price tag feels very reasonable.

I’m calling the Shady from Fresh my splurge. It’s a sun shade, and a very good-looking one at that. I’ve been eyeing one for the warmer months, and this feels like the answer to wanting something that makes sitting at the beach more comfortable without going full controversial cabana.

On the beauty front, the SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray from Tower 28 has caught my attention. I recently received the mini in a MECCA Beauty Loop and now understand why it went viral. It’s designed to help reduce bacteria and calm skin, so I’ve been keeping it in my bag for after a workout, or after a flight.

As the weather’s started to warm up in Sydney, I’ve started to think about the pieces I’m wanting ahead of spring and summer and this mini dress from Deiji Studios has been on my list for far too long and would be the perfect number to go from beach to bar. I’m also Realisation Par’s number one fan and ever since they released this dress I’ve been obsessed, and I know I’ll get lots of wear out of it coming up to events season.

Speaking of summer, I’m on the hunt for a cute new sports bra for pilates and this Leelo Active one is simple but also super cute and would pair well with my current rotation of activewear. This top from small Australian brand Maem Disko is also on my list to add to my ‘jeans and a cute top’ rotation – the ultimate spring outfit. You can never have too many cute black tops in my opinion!

To round it off, I’ve been wanting to take better care of my hair and have heard so many good things about the ABC range from Redken!
