Magnolia BBQ Takeover Si Paradiso
Si Paradiso is kicking off 2026 with a one-day-only kitchen takeover, welcoming cult Vic Park pop-up Magnolia BBQ into the dining room on Sunday 18 January. Led by chefs Jacob D’Vauz and Anisha Halik, Magnolia has built a loyal following for bold, fire-led cooking—and for this collaboration, that smoky, spice-forward style will weave through a special menu that plays with Si Paradiso favourites alongside new dishes made for sharing.
For the day, Magnolia steps into the spotlight inside while the courtyard hums along with Magnolia flipped snacks, pizzas and $2 Leeuwin Coast oysters, soundtracked by Dancing In Space DJs to keep the Sunday sesh rolling. The takeover runs from 12pm to 8pm, with bookings essential for the dining room and walk-ins welcome out back.

Titanic. The Human Story
After sold-out runs in Brisbane, Titanic. The Human Story has officially docked in Perth. Step inside recreated cabins, explore passenger belongings, and hear their stories through an audio guide that makes 1912 feel startlingly close.

HoopsFest
Australia’s biggest celebration of basketball touches down in Perth, bringing NBL, WNBL and all-age social teams together for four electrifying days of action. FRINGE World
Kicking off the cultural calendar in spectacular fashion, FRINGE World is a month-long celebration of the weird, wild, and wonderful. Expect everything from cabaret and comedy to circus acts, immersive theatre, quirky pop-ups and heaps of family-friendly fun. With more than 700 events happening all over Perth, it’s one of the largest and most diverse fringe festivals in the world. Make sure to visit The Pleasure Garden in Northbridge, where food trucks, outdoor bars, and live music keep the energy buzzing all month long. Plus, for the first time ever, Ice Cream Factory will be transformed into an epic new Fringe hub, with heaps to see, do, drink and eat throughout the festival.

Ballile Hill Opening
East Vic Park already punches above its weight in the food department, but a new all-day dining precinct is set to raise the bar even higher. Enter: Baillie Hill, a heritage-led hub built around the historic Elizabeth Baillie House, which has stood proudly since 1912.
The sprawling dining and leisure precinct has been designed with community at its core, bringing together a charming bakery, a classic Aussie pub, a sun-drenched garden bar, plus a woodfired pizza spot and gelato window to keep diners of all ages happy.
Beyond the food and drink offering, the leafy grounds also feature a produce garden, art studios, a timber playground and generous alfresco spaces, all connected by terraced gardens and walkways. Opening Monday January 19th, it’s shaping up to be a serious neighbourhood asset for East Vic Park locals and visitors alike.

Margaritaville at The Leederville Precinct
Summer weekends don’t get much better than this. Margaritaville is taking over The Leederville Precinct across two January weekends, turning Garden, Servo and the Leederville Hotel into a margarita-lover’s playground. Expect a lineup of creative takes on the classic (sweet, spicy and everything in between), paired with Mexican-inspired feasting and a few playful surprises along the way. Rally the girls and grab your tickets, this one’s made for long, sunny sessions.

Oyster Fridays at Young George
Right now is prime time for oyster fanatics, and the good folk at Young George in East Fremantle are throwing a weekly happy hour to celebrate. In true Young George fashion, Chef Melissa Palinkas has taken things up a notch, with oyster katsu on milk bread ($5 each), oysters warmed in olive oil and topped with coriander Hainanese salsa ($3.50 each), and mini oyster martinis ($10 each) all on offer. Aperitivo Hour at Isola Bar e Cibo, Rottnest Island
Afternoons on Rotto are made for slowing down and Isola Bar e Cibo is giving you a very good reason to linger. Their weekly aperitivo hour runs from 3pm to 5pm Wednesday to Sunday, serving up chilled spritzes, coastal small plates and front-row island views as the afternoon drifts by. Expect oysters, delicate slices of carpaccio and other light bites designed for sharing, best enjoyed with something cold in hand. With later return ferries now making it easier to stretch out your day trip, there’s no rush to leave—just wander in, grab a table and settle into island time. If you’re serious about cheese, The Claremont Hotel rooftop is the place to be. Every Thursday from 5pm to 8pm you can grab freshly made burrata, stretched and shaped on the spot as you order, with rotating flavours each week. Gather the girls, wash down with a sunset cocktail, and you’re all set.

Ginuary
Push aside any urges to start your year booze free, ’cause a brand new summer festival dedicated to all things gin is popping up on January 25th, hosted by former AFL star turned distiller Chris Masten. Spend your evening in the lush grounds of Perth City Farm sipping specialty gins from some of the state’s most exciting distilleries, with the likes of Beyond Distilling, Rainfall Distillery and Wild Roads all shaking and pouring up hero cocktails just for the occasion. There’ll also be an exclusive small-batch mango gin courtesy of Masten and distiller Greg Garnish that you’ll only be able to try at Ginuary, plus perfectly paired canapés to round out the night. Still need convincing? The fest has been created by Variety WA, so all proceeds from the day will go to charity!

As the sun dips below the Indian Ocean, Scarborough Beach transforms into a lively hub of food, music, and entertainment every single Saturday at the Scarborough Sunset Markets. If it feels like everyone in Perth is here, it’s because there really is no better place to be, with live music and a fabulous atmosphere week in, week out. You’ll find 20 retail vendors selling artisan goods and unique trinkets, plus almost all of Perth’s best food trucks and portable bars parked and ready to feed marketgoers, so make sure you come hungry and ready for a good time. Sommerville Auditorium may only be open November through to April, but we think that makes this cinema a whole lot more special. This outdoor cinema in Perth has been screening films for over 70 years during the Perth Festival, bringing likeminded audiences together through captivating theatre. Tickets are general admission, so you can arrive early to snag one of the seats, or bring your own cushion and pick a perfectly pleasant patch of grass to watch the film from. Perth Festival
The jewel of Perth’s arts scene, Perth Festival returns in March 2026 with a stellar lineup of local and international acts across music, theatre, film, and literature. As Australia’s longest-running not-for-profit multi-arts festival, it’s a cultural extravaganza that transforms the city’s parks, streets, and venues into creative playgrounds, with some major live performances lined up at the returning East Perth Power Station main hub.
Amongst the mega program? Electronic composer Max Cooper, singer-songwriter Nilüfer Yanya (fresh from touring with the likes of Lorde and Alex G), and UK rock band Black Country, New Road are all slated to showcase at the East Perth Power Station in 2026. Plus, Lacrima, a French theatre epic set in the cut-throat world of haute couture, will take the opening weekend spotlight at the State Theatre Centre of WA.
