Toby’s Estate Chippendale Voted Best Coffee Shop in The World

We’ve long known that Aussies do the best coffee in the world and today it’s official, with Toby’s Estate in Chippendale voted The World’s Best Coffee shop at the inaugural The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops Gala held at CoffeeFest Madrid, in Spain his week.

The award is part of a new global recognition system where coffee shops around the world were judged on set criteria, including quality, barista experience, customer service, innovation, ambience, sustainability, food and pastry qualityand of course, consistency. Acclaimed Melbourne Restaurant Grill Americano To Open in Sydney

Renowned restaurateur Chris Lucas is expanding his acclaimed Melbourne establishment, Grill Americano, to Sydney’s CBD in September 2025. Taking pride of place at 1 Chifley Square, within the historic Qantas House building, the Sydney outpost will feature an expanded dining area, a larger kitchen, and an all-new breakfast service with a Milanese coffee experience. At the heart of the space will be a striking Josper grill, where premium steaks and wood-fired seafood take centre stage.

Diners can expect the same level of impeccable service—think waiters in crisp white jackets—and an elevated take on cult-favourite dishes from the Melbourne menu, including the iconic tiramisu served tableside. The design, led by Lucas’s partner, Sarah Lucas, in collaboration with acclaimed interior designer Samantha Eades of Mitchell Eades, builds on their award-winning projects, including Grill Americano Melbourne and, most recently, Maison Bâtard. The space will honour the heritage of the building, blending timeless charm with fresh, modern sophistication.

Grill Americano Sydney is set to open in September 2025.

A render of the new Sydney Fish Market

The New Sydney Fish Market is One Step Closer to Completion

Another major step towards the long-awaited completion of the new Sydney Fish Market has just taken place. The roof, a wave-shaped and scale-patterned eye-catcher has just been placed, now turning attention to the interiors of the build. Set to open later this year, the new market is expected to see a doubling in visitation rates with plenty of new drawcards. The market’s first small bar, Little Red Wine Bar, will offer marketgoers a chance to enjoy cocktails and selected drops alongside an array of charcuterie and small plates. Sydney stalwarts Cow & Moon, Ho Jiak and Stitch Coffee are amongst a handful of top-tier food retailers opening up outposts in the new market. Lot’s to be excited about!
