If all the stars align, you might stumble across this tiny secret vintage store hidden away in Paddington. One of Brisbane’s best-kept secrets in the vintage store scene, Barbarella’s Vintage is tucked away under an old Queenslander and only operates Thursday to Sunday. Ra Ra Superstar

Ra Ra Superstar

A Paddington institution, Ra Ra Superstar is the brainchild of stylist Kathy Szwedsinski, who grew up sewing clothes for her Barbies from fabric scraps. Now she crafts new and on-trend pieces from vintage fabrics, reducing the volume of fabric that ends up in landfill. Ra Ra is also stocked with incredible vintage finds that will make your wardrobe the envy of all your friends. Head down the hot pink laneway and treat yourself to some sustainable fashion.

Empire Revival

Empire Revival

Open seven days a week in Paddington (a hotspot for vintage shopping), Empire Revival is known for rare and exciting vintage homewares, furniture and fashion. Often visited by designers and filmmakers, even the very building that houses this vintage store is rich with history. The heritage-listed Plaza Theatre was built in 1929 and operated as a cinema through the 30’s, 40s and 50s. Step back in time and visit Empire Revival for some epic vintage finds.

Arkive Vintage

Arkive Vintage

Beginning its journey two decades ago in London and Nottingham, Arkive Vintage opened its first Australian store in 2012. Stocking vintage pieces from the 1930s to 1990s, mostly in their original state, but some brought into the modern era with clever customisation, you can expect to find top-notch jackets, tees, button-downs and dresses at Arkive. With two Westfield locations, shopping vintage has never been so easy and accessible.
