A little Halloween magic is taking over Carrick Hill’s Storybook Trail this weekend, with a family-friendly evening of trick-or-treating, spooky surprises and a silent disco. Little ghosts, witches and superheroes can follow the trail between sweet-filled stops before donning their dancing shoes for a headphone disco. Food trucks and coffee will keep everyone fuelled along the way, but be sure to stick to trail, as the wider Carrick Hill grounds will be closed during the event.

Lucky Dumpling Market
Lucky Dumpling Market returns to Elder Park for four weeks of dumplings, bao, noodles, curries, satay and sweet treats, with 27 vendors to work your way through. Alongside returning favourites, six newcomers join the line-up, including a collaboration between Shōbōshō and ShoSho. Expect a few drinks, live entertainment and karaoke between plates, with Moon Lanterns joining the market for the first time. Fridays will also open from noon, making this a rather good excuse to trade the desk for dumplings.

Sunny’s 10th Birthday Weekender
A decade of Sunny’s is worth raising a glass to. The Adelaide pizza favourite is marking its 10th birthday with a three-day weekender of kitchen takeovers, late-night parties and local music talent. Friday sees Latteria take over with drinks by Luca Baio and food by Maxwell O’Callaghan, before Love Design brings the party on Saturday, complete with $20 margaritas and margheritas all night and live music from Maybe Hugo. Sunday is a fitting finale, with Africola and Golden Boy joining Sunny’s for a food takeover that brings three MICHELIN Guide Bib Gourmand venues under one roof, alongside DJs from 3pm till late.

Club Lago
Consider this your excuse to pretend you’re spending the afternoon on the shores of Lake Como, without leaving Adelaide. Club Lago is back from October 10, bringing a little European glamour to Saturdays with open-air bars, DJs, spritzes and plenty of time to linger.
The setting leans into sun-washed coastal tones and relaxed day-club energy, making it an easy pick for a long lunch, a few drinks with friends or an afternoon that quietly turns into evening. Doors open from 11:30am most Saturdays, with special event days on the calendar too and more opportunities coming in 2027.

Halloween Night Market at Gilles at the Grounds
For a Halloween outing with a little more to it than trick-or-treating, Gilles at the Grounds is taking things outdoors with an evening of market shopping, creative workshops and good things to eat. Browse local traders, settle in on the lawns for a bite to eat and soak up the Halloween atmosphere, with Adelaide creative collective The Bait Fridge joining the festivities from 6pm to 9pm.

Monet to Matisse: Defying Tradition, Adelaide
Van Gogh, Cézanne, Degas, Picasso, Matisse. Fifty-seven masterworks from Ohio’s Toledo Museum of Art — none of them previously seen in Australia — arrive at the Art Gallery of South Australia for an Australian-exclusive exhibition tracing modern art from Impressionism through to Abstract Expressionism. The debut show in AGSA’s new Winter Art Series, it comes with a full program to match: weekly Friday Nights from late July with after-hours access, live music and a Taittinger champagne lounge, curator-led tours, family days, a teen program and French-inspired dining from AGSA_eat. This one runs until November — but the sooner you go, the more you’ll get out of it.

Vardon Avenue Street Party
Adelaide’s East End comes into its own on Vardon Avenue, home to wine bars and lively local favourites including East End Cellars, Mother Vine, NOLA and El Cheeky Flamingo. From Friday 6 November, the street’s alfresco tables will set the scene for long evenings of good wine and good company, with street parties running every Friday and Saturday from 4pm until late through to Christmas.

National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, Adelaide
Christmas has officially entered the chat. The National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant returns to Adelaide on November 14, bringing its annual parade of floats, performers, bands and plenty of festive sparkle to the city. Running since 1933, it’s the Southern Hemisphere’s largest public parade, with more than 335,000 people lining the route last year. Expect 170-plus theatrical sets, 18 bands, 30 dance groups, five choirs and around 3000 costumes, plus the all-important clowns, elves and police horses. It’s free to watch, so claim a spot early and consider your Christmas outfit part of the ticket.

Pick Your Own, Charleston Farm
A little twilight magic, courtesy of the Adelaide Hills. Charleston Farm has wrapped up its spring flower-picking sessions and is now preparing the patch for warmer months, with Pick Your Own bookings temporarily on hold while summer and autumn blooms take root. Keep an eye on its Instagram or sign up for email updates for any pop-up picking sessions in the meantime. The next main window is expected from mid-December or January through to April, when dahlias, hydrangeas, zinnias and other seasonal blooms will be ready to pick. It’s one to keep on your list for a leisurely afternoon among the flowers, with more dates to come as the patch comes back into bloom.
