It’s finally here. It’s the most wonderful time of year! The Adelaide Fringe Festival draws visitors from all corners of Australia to revel in its eclectic and diverse offerings. From jaw-dropping acrobatic shows and family-friendly circus acts to shows that invite audiences to explore taboo topics – there’s no shying away from the creativity and innovation on display. 

Beyond the stages and performances, the city transforms into a bustling hub of energy, excitement and outstanding food and drink offerings. Adelaide’s CBD hums with activity as restaurants and bars are filled to the brim, street parties take over Vardon Avenue and the East End becomes a pedestrian-only zone, allowing for alfresco dining on the street. Gluttony, The Garden of Unearthly Delights and Fool’s Paradise delight festivalgoers with pop-up bars, dining experiences and food trucks to fuel up pre or post-show!

During summer, the HNLY Day Club takes place every Saturday afternoon, transforming the balcony into a stylish spot for drinks with the girls. For $65, you’ll score 3 hours of bottomless drinks overlooking the beach, with DJ sets and summer vibes aplenty.

Fridays just got even better with POOLSIDE at Eos by SkyCity. From 5:00pm, the exclusive Eos Leisure Deck will transform into a summer oasis, offering guests access to a heated pool, sun loungers, and live DJ sets. Your ticket includes three hours of bottomless drinks – think coconut margaritas, Riot fruit spritzes, and 78° Sunset Gin – plus wine, beer, and a delicious meal. Menu highlights include Italian antipasto, burgers, and iTL pizzas like the seasonal Summer in Pink with whipped goat cheese and roasted hazelnuts.

Previously reserved for guests, the Leisure Deck is now Adelaide’s ultimate Friday escape, blending luxury vibes with city views.

Greg Newington: Images from Both Sides of the World

With the city set to be buzzing with activity this weekend, there is an option for those seeking something a little more peaceful and refined. Beyond the CBD and hosted at Fleurieu Arthouse within the charming Hardys Tintara Winery in McLaren Vale, acclaimed photographer Greg Newington will hold his first South Australian exhibition, offering a unique glimpse into diverse landscapes and cultures. Images from Both Sides of the Road showcase a rare collection of Newington’s most powerful images, taken throughout a career spanning 50 years and including standout moments from Africa, Europe and the US.

Drink & Dine at Station Road

Embodying Euro summer vibes, Station Road is bringing a little taste of France to your lunch break with its brand-new French Classics lunch menu, kicking off with the much-loved moules frites! Launching this Thursday, this iconic dish – fresh Port Lincoln mussels cooked in a white wine and cream broth, best served with crispy house-made French fries and mayo – will be available Wednesday to Saturday for lunch. A new French favourite will take centre stage each month, keeping things fresh and delicious.

Already have lunch plans? Kick off your weekend with Apero Hour, where you can enjoy alfresco drinks, elegant bar bites and DJ beats, making for the perfect excuse to leave work a little early. With Whispering Angel Rosé the star of the show at $16 a glass, plus inventive cocktails and a forecast for sunshine, this is Friday knock-offs done right.

All summer long, The Lawns at Woodstock Winery are open on weekends, where guests can lounge on tables or BYO picnic setting for a lush day surrounded by greenery, with great food and wine. To make the deal even better, Ginlong Canteen will be on-site every weekend in their pop-up restaurant, bringing their delectable Asian fusion to McLaren Vale.
