Embrace Your Inner Foodie at Tasting Australia

The best food party in Australia returns to Adelaide, with festivities, food and fun kicking off this from Friday, May 2nd. Now in its 18th iteration, Tasting Australia, presented by Journey Beyond, is a deliciously different celebration of experiences that feed curiosity, from wine masterclasses and tasting tables to collaborations between local legends and top chefs from around the world.

Opening weekend offers up an array of delicious events to choose from. Take an immersive bread-making class in the Fleurieu Peninsula and discover tips and and tricks to ensure a perfect loaf (as well as enjoying an apéro, lunch, dessert, Kimbolton wine, sourdough starter and recipe booklet).

You can also enjoy a Ginsational Desgustation at Prohibition Liquor Co, which includes a four-course dinner by Mercato head chef Nick Bergin, or gather the girls for the The Ultimate Foodie Ladies Day Out and be whisked off to Willunga Farmers Market in a luxury Mercedes minibus before sitting down for a delicious breakfast, a hands-on fermenting workshop, a bit of retail therapy, coffee and wine tasting.

Watch the City Light Up at the Water Lantern Festival

Lanterns illuminate the water in a beautiful display as the Water Lantern Festival heads to Adelaide this Saturday, May 3rd. Bringing together people from all walks of life, it promises to be a magical night of great music, tasty food and the awe-inspiring sight of thousands of floating lanterns lighting up the water.

Attendees have the change to decorate their own unique lantern with messages of hope, love, happiness, healing, peace and connection, before releasing it to join others to drift out into the water.

With a brand new, treasure-hunt style Chardonnay May Trail that encourages visitors follow a map to uncover the unique expressions of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay (and win prizes), there are also heaps of lunches, dinners, masterclasses and live music events to choose from as part of the month-long celebration—check out the full program here.
