Consider yourself a Pilates pro? Do you love to feel the burn as you stretch, glide and pulse on the reformer? Perhaps you’re looking for more connection with your trainer and guidance to get the most out of your workout. Maybe you are looking for an entirely new fitness routine, or are just getting started on your health and wellness journey.

Whatever the case, embrace your core and listen up, because CoreBrew Lagree is opening in Adelaide this April, introducing Lagree to South Australia in a space that’s as much about building community as it is about building muscle.

While Lagree has already taken the fitness world by storm in the US and is endorsed by some of our fave celeb A-Listers—we’re talking Jennifer Anniston, Kate Hudson, and the Obama’s—Adelaideans are yet to access the workout… until now.

For co-owners Georgie Boyd, Lucy Blagov and David Lubeck, launching CoreBrew Lagree is about more than offering another standard Pilates workout—the trio is filling a gap in Adelaide’s health and wellness sphere, creating an inspiring environment that blends movement, community, kindness, and coffee!

Pilates on Another Level

So, what exactly is Lagree, and what makes it different to reformer Pilates? Glad you asked.

Created by bodybuilder Sebastien Lagree, Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact workout on the Megaformer Pro that combines traditional strength training exercises with Pilates principles. The tempo is different to a regular reformer class, slowed way down to challenge your muscles with controlled movements and time under tension to build strength, endurance and core stability—effective resistance through progressive overload is a fundamental principle of Lagree.

Simply put, Lagree is “Pilates on another level,” says David, a senior trainer who discovered this game-changing workout while training in the US. The low-impact style is gentle on your joints and a brilliant addition to existing cardio-heavy fitness routines. Loved by women and men of all ages, there is a strong focus on core strength and flexibility, which increase in importance as we age.

Still unsure of the difference between a reformer and the Megaformer Pro? Allow Sebastien Lagree himself to explain:

Coffee & Connection

Beyond the workout—and putting the ‘brew’ in CoreBrew Lagree—the heart of the Gilbert Street studio is found in the specialty coffee lounge, intentionally designed to bring people together and build meaningful connections outside the workout. “We didn’t want this to be a get in, get out’ type of studio,” says Georgie. “We wanted a space where people could slow down, catch up with friends, and connect with their trainers.” Clients can ask questions, perfect their movements and feel at ease with every move.

As for the coffee, the studio has partnered with the local roster 1645 Coffee to offer a simple, yet high-quality brew selection. No frills and no fuss, coffee is served black or white, with teas available for non-coffee drinkers. Members can even pre-order their coffee when checking in with a pre-purchased Brew Pack on their account (no need to bring your wallet to class!), so it’s ready and waiting for you post-workout, or popped on the individual coffee table at the end of your Megaformer.

Not a member? No worries! You can still purchase a Brew Pack and pop in to grab a coffee using credits on your account. And who knows? You may feel inspired to try a class while you’re there.

Whether you’re a seasoned Pilates person or stepping onto a Megaformer for the first time, CoreBrew Lagree welcomes everyone to give it a go. Unlike standard Pilates classes, Lagree doesn’t separate beginners from advanced students—each session is tailored to suit all levels, and a collaborative class environment means you pick up tips just by watching those around you.

“The machine may look intimidating, but it’s surprisingly beginner-friendly,” says Lucy, Head Trainer at CoreBrew Lagree. And, if you’re still unsure, intro packs and orientation classes are available for new clients to ease into the workout and master the fundamentals.

With plans to bring on specialist trainers for postnatal classes—Lagree is pregnancy-safe with medical clearance—a commitment to building a strong community of passionate clients and working with experienced and engaging trainers, this is just the beginning for CoreBrew Lagree. It’s the place to be for a workout that will challenge your strength, endurance and mindset while introducing you to like-minded people. And when you walk away with your legs feeling like jelly, at least you’ll do so with a great coffee in hand!
