Your Hogwarts Letter Has Finally Arrived In Sydney
Something very magical is happening inside one of Sydney’s oldest post offices this weekend.
Still waiting for your Hogwarts acceptance letter? Your owl might have taken a wrong turn, but there’s a little bit of magic coming to Sydney this weekend. To celebrate Back to Hogwarts, Australia Post and HBO Max are transforming the historic Sydney GPO into a Harry Potter-inspired Owl Post Experience.
For two days only (Saturday and Sunday, 11am–5pm), fans can step into the wizarding world and write their own magical correspondence using quills and Hogwarts-inspired wax seals, before sending it on its way. There’ll also be a ‘letter swarm’ installation, recreating the iconic scene where Harry is surrounded by a flurry of Hogwarts letters, making for a pretty good photo op.
The experience is part of the annual Back to Hogwarts celebrations, which mark the moment students return to Hogwarts on September 1. And the magic doesn’t have to end when you leave: Australia Post has a downloadable Hogwarts-inspired letter template and wax-like seal, so you can write and send your own magical message from home.
