The Basin Campground

Nestled on the banks of Pittwater inside Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, The Basin Campground is inaccessible to vehicles. Hike or catch a ferry to this secluded spot and enjoy a few days away from the mayhem of the city.

Few places are as tranquil as Green Patch in Booderee National Park in the Jervis Bay Territory. Take a quiet walk at sunrise or sunset to meet the locals, including echidnas, kangaroos, wallabies, quolls, and seals. How’s the serenity?

Along the coast between Coffs Harbour and Yamba in northern New South Wales, you’ll find the tranquil remote beach camping spot Pebbly Beach. Expect to see wildlife when you wake up and enjoy walking trails and fishing spots. This campground is only accessible at low tide.

Killalea Campground 

Water lovers will feel right at home at Killalea Campground near Wollongong. Easy access to world-class surf beaches means opportunities to swim, surf, snorkel, and fish abound. Sydneysiders will appreciate the proximity of Putty Beach campground in Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast. It’s the largest campground in the national park, with 20 campsites for tents only. The 8.5km Bouddi Coastal Walk begins at the beach’s eastern end, so pack your hiking boots.

Patonga, Central Coast 

A bit further south of Putty Beach lies Patonga, a small village on the Central Coast with its own tent and caravan park. This site is perfect for those who prefer access to nearby amenities like shops and restaurants. The campsite is also a little fancier, with a tennis court and children’s play area.

Euroka Campground

Glampers, beware—you’ll be roughing it at Euroka Campground. This campsite is considered remote, so it’s essential to come prepared. If you brave it, however, you’ll be rewarded with access to stunning walks, the opportunity to sleep among majestic gum trees, and the sights and sounds of local wildlife.
