Lovedale may be one of the smaller enclaves of the Hunter Valley region, but it sure does pack a punch. Located between the two larger neighbouring suburbs of Pokolbin and Cessnock — what this town lacks in size, it makes up for in charm. Living in Lovedale offers a unique blend of community spirit and serene countryside living. With just under 500 permanent residents, Lovedale prides itself on being a supportive community, working closely together to offer visitors a more bespoke regional experience. Here, city traffic seems like a distant memory. Winding country roads lead the way to charming boutique cellar doors. Delightful eateries proudly serve local produce, and there is a wide range of things to see and do. 

The main thoroughfare of Lovedale is the aptly named, Lovedale Road — an easily driveable, ten-kilometre rural stretch, on which virtually all of the local businesses are dotted along. Home of the famous Lovedale Long Lunch, food and wine lovers come together on the third weekend of May each year to discover the many wonders of the local businesses. Year-round, living in Lovedale provides endless opportunities to enjoy gourmet highlights, such as the idyllic Leaves & Fishes and sprawling vineyard estates with boutique cellar doors that tempt visitors to linger a little longer. This laidback neighbourhood is much more than just a side-shoot of the Hunter Valley; in fact, there’s truly a lot to love about little Lovedale.
