8 of the Best Fitness Studios in the Eastern Suburbs to Sweat & Reset in

The people of Sydney’s eastern suburbs know what they’re doing.

The Well

When it comes to fitness, the people of Sydney’s eastern suburbs know what they’re doing, and the abundance of fitness studios scattered throughout the area is a testament to this.

From cardio and boxing to pilates and yoga, there’s a studio to fill any needs – but here is the crème de la crème of the bunch as we round up 7 of the best fitness studios in the eastern suburbs.

Bondi Beach Yoga Studio

Bondi Beach Yoga Studio

Vinyasa your thing? Get your downward dog to Bondi Beach Yoga Studio. The yoga studio is renowned for its heated vinyasa classes giving your yoga workout some edge (read: sweat). Most classes are heated to 32 degrees while there are a few non-heated classes for those not wanting to break into a sweat. A strong yoga class, which can easily become a daily habit.

Elixr

Elixr may be built upon yoga and pilates, but it’s an ‘all-rounder’ gym for Sydneysiders. With its biggest studio held in Bondi Junction, Elixr is famous for its reformer pilates classes but there are yoga, boxing, a pool and general gym facilities on offer too. Membership is reasonably cheap considering its offerings - and the fact its interiors feel more wellness retreat than gym - so if you’re into variety Elixr is your place.

Shelter

Shelter

A one-stop wellness hotspot and modern-day health oasis – Shelter is a mind (and body) shifting experience every fitness junkie will love. It’s a gym, but not as you know it – here you’ll sweat in the rhythm-based spin classes, rejuvenate in the infrared saunas and recover in freezing-cold ice baths.

After a session head to their organic uicery to nourish your body with nutrient-rich supplements, juices and smoothies, while relaxing in the sun-drenched courtyard.

Flow Athletic

Flow Athletic

Built upon the philosophy of one strength session, one cardio session and one yoga session each week, Flow Athletic is a studio catering to every gym need - which has seen the modern studio gain extreme popularity. The studio has an airy, minimal feel with the staff providing a warm atmosphere. You’re also bound to meet Flow mascot/Insta pup ‘Wilbur the Spaniel’ along the way.

BodyMindLife

BodyMindLife

Another oasis for keen yogis, BodyMindLife has studios all throughout the east from Surry Hills and Redfern to Bondi Beach and Potts Point. Focussing on yoga, pilates and meditation, the studios collectively offer more than 300 classes each week. The studios are fresh, sun-drenched, herbal tea is always within reach and the Yin classes are notoriously gorgeous here.

Surry Hills, Bondi Beach, Potts Point and Redfern

Agoga

A functional training gym in the heart of South Bondi, Agoga is a self-described athlete’s gym, where you’ll at least train like an athlete. Offering workouts from the diaries of big names like Usain Bolt and Cathy Freeman, the classes of 5-16 people focus on interval training creating lean, strong outcomes. It’s an expensive membership, but you’re paying for quality here. The classes are always different, keeping its members on their toes and out of Boredomville. (Because we all know where that ends.)

The Well

The Well

Set in a stunning, sunny space with views of the ocean, The Well is a gym, steam room, health café, and ‘wellness concierge’ rolled into one. The full gym takes up a whole floor, and features equipment, a yoga studio, reformer pilates room, and personal training space. Treatment-wise, there’s a list of health practitioners who can be called in, like naturopaths, physios, and chiropractors.

78 Campbell Parade, Bondi

Fluidform Pilates

Fluidform Pilates

This pilates studio specialises in reformer pilates, mat pilates, barre and yoga. The studio prefers to start members off with an individual consultation, offering one-on-one sessions, plus pre- and post-natal classes. And with the likes of Pip Edwards and Phoebe Burgess among their clients, you know they're going to be good.

Bondi, Randwick, Surry Hills
