It’s hard to talk about the foodie scene in Newcastle and not mention cult favourite sandwich shop Arno Deli. The founder comes from a background in fine dining, corporate and catering and while travelling was inspired by the sandwiches from All’Antico Vinao in Florence to open his own place – part sandwich shop, part wine bar. It’s classically Italian, with a limited menu where all items are designed to perfection. Add on perfect specialty coffee and wine, and you’ve got the recipe for a cult classic.

Crumb Coffee

A pastry icon, Crumb Coffee has made quite an impact on the hospitality scene in Newcastle. Known for their handmade artisanal pastries, with a rotating menu of specials as well as a staying menu of classics – they often have lines down the street (especially on the weekends). While using traditional baking techniques, the team is always experimenting with new and unique flavour combinations which means there’s always something new for us to try. Our favourites? It’s hard for us to go past the chorizo and hot honey pastry.
