Secondi
Secondi isn’t your average vintage store — no lazy afternoon strolls here — but make no mistake, this is where the real treasures are found. This appointment-only studio presents a tightly curated edit of vintage treasures sourced from across Europe, from lighting and vases to mirrors and decorative objects and furniture. The kind of pieces you quite literally won’t find anywhere else.

Water Tiger
Water Tiger store houses a curated collection of vintage treasures sourced from across the globe, with pieces discovered in China, India, Indonesia, Morocco and beyond. Each item carries a sense of history and craftsmanship, bringing together distinctive silhouettes, rich textures and timeworn character that add depth and personality to any space.

Eclectic Find
There’s a lot less rummaging to do at Eclectic Find (formerly Powder Works for any avid antiquers in the know) as the collection here is highly curated by sisters Robbie and Amanda. That means the prices are sometimes a little more than your typical second-hand furniture store, but these impeccably preserved antique pieces are well worth it.
You can rest assured knowing each piece is as unique as they come with a story to match. There’s a little something for everyone, from premium French furniture to mid-century gems. You’re bound to have a ball sifting through the multitude of treasures here. And, if you need some decor for the walls, consider yourself sorted.

Mitchell Road Antique and Design Centre
Around the corner from The Grounds of Alexandria is Mitchell Road Antique and Design Centre – a supersized vintage marketplace. You could spend hours wandering around the different stalls, trawling through retro homewares that date back from the Victorian era and all the way up to the 20th century. The coolest part is, if you can’t find what you’re after, the centre’s dealers will put it on their ‘wish-list’ and try and source it from somewhere for you. Winning.
17 Bourke Road, Alexandri
Reverse Garbage
Reverse Garbage is a non-profit cooperative with an environmentally friendly purpose (they want to minimise landfill by encouraging the re-use of materials that would otherwise go to waste). Come armed and ready to rummage around in this chaotic (but incredible) second-hand treasure trove. Search through vintage antiques and indoor and outdoor furniture, or pick up old offcuts to make your own furniture.
Hut, 5/142 Addison Road, Marrickville
Upcycled Design Centre
Upcycled Design Centre is a warehouse full of eclectic treasures. It is packed to the brim with affordable vintage finds. While you’ll definitely have to dig around, expect everything from mid-century pieces to antiques, collectables, and appliances.

Rozelle Collectors Markets
If you’re looking for furniture at affordable prices, you might want to think about heading to one of the many markets in Sydney on the weekends. Not only are the prices budget-friendly, but the ability to haggle with the stallholder is always an attractive possibility.
