Rise Artisan Bakery

Known for providing sumptuous comfort whenever you need it, a good bakery will never let you down. A little blue? Have a donut. Busy? Pop down the road for a sausage roll. Are you having the best day of your life? Make it even better with a decadent vanilla slice.

If you’re a foodie, you’re probably all over Adelaide’s best restaurants, but might not have tracked down the city’s best-baked goods with the same passion. To help you find your local pastry paradise, here’s our list of the best bakeries in Adelaide you have to experience for yourself.

Butter Canteen & Provisions

Butter Canteen & Provisions at Lipson Street Collective

This teeny family bakery and catering company is now serving out delicious sweet treats from their residence at Lipson Street Collective

Head to Butter Canteen & Provisions on Friday and Saturday from 8 am to indulge in some of the best slices of cakes in the business, Oreo choc chip and honey roasted peanut cookies, madeleines, and rice crispies. There's savoury fare too - think homemade sausage rolls, kimchi corn and cheese focaccia, greens hand pies and freshly filled baguettes.

It's all best served alongside the expert sourdough from resident sourdough baker Paul, who's onsite Thursday through Saturday, 7 am until sold out.

49/51a Lipson Street, Port Adelaide

Blondies Bakehouse

Blondies Bakehouse

You know those huge, stuffed, New York-style cookies you've seen all over your socials lately? Yeah, you can get them right here in Adelaide.

Blondies Bakehouse is making the world a better place, one crumbly, gooey, flavour-packed, mouthwatering cookie at a time. With flavours like Nutella, red velvet, strawberry matcha, birthday cake, NYC choc chip and an outrageous 1kg cookie, you may need to order more than one... or two.

For the lucky ones (Adelaideans) you can pick up your pack of cookies from the bakehouse in Netley, or keep an eye on socials for pop-up stalls around town. The best news? You can spread the cookie love Aus-wide, with delivery available across the country.

Pick up from Netley, orders must be made 2 days in advance.

The Sugar Man

The Sugar Man

The spot to pop into over the weekend, The Sugar Man is a masterclass in the art of pastry. It's a haven for sweet lovers who eagerly flock on Fridays for the classics or Saturdays and Sundays for the delectable weekend specials.

Artisanal croissants are the order of the day, alongside flame-roasted macadamia pain suisse, cheese and vegemite croissant toasties, pistachio and raspberry tarts and hearty sausage rolls.

Sitchu Tip: Make sure to spend some time drooling over their sinfully good chocolate range, all handmade and hand-wrapped in small batches on-site.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 10 am
