This Easter long weekend in Perth (Friday 3rd to Monday 6th of April), the forecast has blessed us with a string of perfectly sunny 23 to 27 degree days, just waiting to be enjoyed.
Perth usually goes pretty quiet over Easter, with many choosing to spend the four-day weekend down south ticking off the region’s country bakeries, wineries and more. But with high fuel prices keeping more of us at home, we’re expecting a much livelier weekend in Perth this Easter. Good Friday at Gwelup Fish & Chips
When Anisha Halik and Jacob D’Vauz (the duo behind some of Perth’s favourite pop-up dining experiences) set their creative culinary minds on something, you can be damn sure it’s going to be delicious. After packing out Modus with Magnolia BBQ and feeding the crowds at Doubleview Bowls Club, the pair has finally landed on stable ground.
Enter Gwelup Fish & Chips, a new chef-led fish and chip shop serving next-level seafood in a casual takeaway setting. Seafood baskets, fish burgers, chip butties and more are treated with the same kind of attention to flavour you’ve come to expect — all featuring sustainably sourced and traced seafood. Open 12-2pm and 4-8pm, Good Friday is arguably the busiest day of the year, so call ahead to pre-order and expect delays. Either way, it’s worth it.

Jurassic Kingdom: Deep Sea Titans
Kick off the school holidays with a prehistoric adventure at Jurassic Kingdom. The popular all-ages festival is back at Burswood Park from April 3rd to 19th, and this time it’s going to the deep blue sea, with an exciting new mix of dinosaurs rising from both land and sea. Your bold little explorers will go mad for the expanded collection of life-sized animatronic creatures hidden around every turn, from mighty T-Rexes to speedy Velociraptors and massive prehistoric sea creatures. Running from April 18th to June 14th at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, the exhibition brings together more than 100 new and emerging Aboriginal artists from across the state, spanning painting, textiles, sculpture and more.
