Text Me When You Get Home
If you’ve ever walked home with your keys in hand, location sharing on and a friend ready on speed dial, you’ve probably sent the all-too-familiar message too: “Text me when you get home.” These small precautions are second nature for many women — a clear reminder that safety at night is not equally experienced. It’s this reality that inspired Casey Edmond to walk from sunset to sunrise along the Boorloo Bridge and Narrows Bridge Swan River loop, taking her final steps on International Women’s Day. The walk isn’t about amplifying fear; it’s about starting conversations, encouraging change and raising funds for education programs working towards a safer future for women. If you’re keen to get involved, you can either donate or join Casey on a section of the walk. Head here for all the details.
