Sundays are done well at Brunswick's stunningly revamped Sporting Club Hotel. It's a modern and vibey pub that still retains all of the old charm of its former days as The Charles Weston.

Doors swing open at noon, and, dependent on seasonality, you might enjoy the likes of half chicken with summer squash, butter beans, and grilled corn with bread sauce; a sweet porchetta with glazed carrots, Tropea onions, and mustard sauce; or a rolled lamb leg with a lentil, barley and almond loaf and braised fennel and mint sauce.

Roasts rotate weekly, so you'll never know what you're going to get - but it's bound to be truly perfect. One of our favourite new spots for a Sunday Roast in Melbourne.

The Courthouse Hotel

We're in love with this neighbourhood pub in North Melbourne, located in the heart of Errol Street. The Courthouse Hotel is a lovingly refurbished Art-Deco building with classic corner entry bar, two dining rooms, and street seating.

As vintage vinyl tunes drift out from the record player behind the bar, settle in from 12pm til late on a Sunday for one of the best roasts in the city. There's always a beef rump roast on offer and another rotating cut that could be pork, a whole chook, lamb, and sometimes even fish, all cooked over the custom Parilla grill. Garnishes rotate weekly but classic roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding remain permanent fixtures.

There's an air of romance and modern vintage flair to The Courthouse, which is why it remains one of our top picks for best Sunday roast in Melbourne.
