Where to Spend a Long Weekend Getaway in QLD – Scenic Rim

The Scenic Rim stretches over 4200 square metres of verdant bushland, agricultural farmland and quaint townships that are a delight to explore. Your accommodation options here span from tiny cosy cabins to five-star luxury retreats, and adventures range from luscious wineries, hikes and outlooks to flower picking.

Spicers Hidden Vale

Spicers have a way of crafting the perfect scenic escapes, and the Hidden Vale is no exception to the rule. Combining the rustic aesthetic of a traditional Brisbane homestead with thoughtful design, the accommodation is both serene and luxurious, ensuring it ticks all the boxes when it comes to the idyllic Scenic Rim escape.

During your stay on Spicers’ 12,000-acre property, there are a number of accommodation options available to you. Relax in a two or four-bedroom cottage, cosy up in a luxury cabin, settle into a sumptuous suite or valley view room.

Don’t let the farmhouse appeal fool you, every part of this stay is steeped in luxury, comfort and just the right amount of modernity, right down to the delightful (and chef-hatted) Homage Restaurant that serves modern Australian food with a hint of European influence scattered throughout. The kitchen’s commitment to sustainability and self-sufficiency is evidenced through their 89-bed market garden, beehives, animal nursery, smoke house and preserving room, all of which support them to continue plating up some of the region’s most flavourful produce.

While away a few hours here exploring the lavender farms and vineyards, before settling into the restaurant for a long lunch. One of Mount Tamborine’s most popular tourist spots is Witches Falls Winery, now one of Queensland’s largest wine producers.

What makes Witches Falls so special is the philosophy it embodies, merging traditional techniques with a minimal intervention approach and state-of-the-art procedures to guarantee a beautiful result.
